I had Dolan do it. Just say it stumbles at high altitudes and you frequent the lake. They can’t really duplicate it but can’t prove it isn’t happening so they have no reason to refuse.

Took the RS back into the hills of Ferntucky, this time with some friends. Jeep & Yota were already out there when I got there and had stumbled on those rocks. Jeep headed home and Yota & I were going to wheel some more after he got his daughter something cold to drink while we waited for the RZR family to show (twins were napping). Had some fun running around until the Yota got a flat on it's warn out 37's. I went blasting back to my Taco to get my tire iron only to find out my stock wrench couldn't get enough of a grip on the lugs in his deep wheels. Another friend showed up with wife & twins in their 4 door RZR & a longer wrench. The Yota limped home on a 35" spare while the RZR & I blasted around for a while longer20180909_113335.jpg20180909_113211.jpg 20180909_113230.jpg 20180909_113256.jpg 20180909_120107.jpg 20180909_120129.jpg 20180909_121057.jpg 20180909_122749.jpg

I went in a couple of weeks ago to have the 0062 TSB done and the Service Writer said that there were several people complaining about power loss after the update. After doing some research on here, it seems like the general consensus is that it actually has more power. I opted to not have it done as I didn't do any research on here about the update, but now wish I would have had it done.
Let me know how it goes. I think I will just go back and have it done anyway, but I had to go to Carson to get the 0058 update done because they argued with me about it. I dont argue well and keep my composure, so the minute they started arguing, I just said fuck it, Ill go to Carson. That way I dont get 86'd from Dolan. LOL.

I had the update done, I no longer live in the reno/Tahoe area but up in Montana at higher elevation and it definitely helped. Almost feels like I'm running ECT all the time

I need to make an appointment to get it done along with some other things. I’m at 33k so my b2b warranty is about to expire.

I have the vibrating blower fan issue and my rear brakes feel like they’re more and more warped by the day. It’s almost scary putting on the brakes from higher speeds.

Also just recently started having the head unit randomly crash. I’ve read a lot of others having this problem but mine was fine for 2 years before it started happening.

When I had the throttle response TSB done they put me on a list for the blower motor. Apparently it’s a big recall finally. They didn’t have the parts but said they would next service.

In all seriousness besides the few small issues I’ve had I love my truck.

Well Dolan did not flash the TSB on my Tacoma. They apparently were not able to capture any freeze frame data of the truck stumbling and hunting for a gear. They knew exactly the issue but they just can’t be payed by Toyota corporate without the data.

Such bullshit. Just flash the fucking truck. They did the same shit to me with my crank position sensor. It had check engine light and I had to tow it in but of course they couldn’t reproduce it. It would have been cheaper for them to just replace the sensor than pay a tech a few hours to diagnose.

Right. I asked if they would just flash it. And they said no and he wasn’t willing to let me pay for it to happen just yet. Next option was to leave the truck with them for a couple days to let thing drive it more. Your poor tech is getting screwed by driving my truck around. They were very nice and professional about it I will say though.

FWIW you can buy TechStream for like $60 on Amazon and flash it yourself if you’re tech inclined. Haven’t done it myself but there’s plenty of threads by people who have.

I took Buddy out for his 1st ride in the RS Turbo R. I wasn't sure what to expect. He's not the best in the Taco on road at times & worse off road.
He seemed to be having fun. When we were going he'd just lay down with his head up looking. When I got it going 30 to 45 mph he'd tuck his head below the dash to get out of the wind.
1st trip was a short one to see how he'd do.
When I asked him later if he wanted to go for a ride & open the door he just hopped in, got in his seat & waited for me to strap him in.
2nd trip was longer & I ended up just N of Hazen when I turned around. Got to play on some nice sand piles, explored & flew down some trails. He was great & the only time I got a reaction from him was when I was flying at 45 mph & did the "Oh SHIT! SLAM on the brakes there's a big ass rut/ditch across the trail" maneuver.
Tomorrow I get to use the real key on it. I have about a 1/2 hour left on the break-in. It comes with two color coded keys. One limits torque & top speed (to 45 mph) I've only used this one so far.
The other one unleashes the full power of the 172 HP 900cc Turbo tri-cylinder engine.
After a fun day wheelin' with my pup I came home & made some smoked pulled pork & bacon nacho fries.

He's wearing his harness (attached to 4 pt harness) & the 4 pt harness20180910_161022.jpg

This is how he rides at slower speeds 20180910_165217.jpg 20180910_180530.jpg
