Any good choices? Any ones you really like? I'd also like to add a front camera if possible.

I have the base touch screen in my '20 Tacoma. I want to replace it with something that looks like it fits.

And I'd love to see pics of yours if you like it!

Doesn’t the 20 have a new unit and front camera option?

Check out pioneer nex units and some of the Kenwood Excelon radios seem nice

Not sure on what I want....haven't looked at radios in years. I'd love some good eq's and better Bluetooth phone support.

I'm not sure when I'm pulling the trigger on this. I will most likely get a left and tires/wheels before I touch the radio.

Following. I'm about to upgrade to a 2020 Tacoma and do not want the stock Entune setup for several reasons. I also want something that fits in the dash as well as the factory head unit does and without a big boring blank plastic bezel around the screen. I'd prefer Alpine but hate the "floating" head unit design of their top of the line ILX-F309TCM. It just looks like somebody glued a tablet to the dash and I heard it rattles on bumpy roads. Currently considering Alpine X308U or INE-W987HD but still researching.

I put one of these guys in mine about a week after I got my truck. I am mostly happy with it. A lot of the software running on it is pretty buggy - the important stuff works well (backup camera, distance sensors, etc.). Being able to install Android applications is cool. I haven't had much luck getting my phone to connect to it.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone that wants something that they can install and have it work. The hardware installation was really easy, but setting up the software was a lot of work. I always like to mess around with the software on devices I own, so I'm happy.

Thanks for listing the equipment you're looking into...really helps. I'll post here when I decide, too.

You should consider whether you want a unit that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and whether you want one that supports the wired or wireless versions of those. Support for HD Radio and whether it still has a CD player may also be considerations.

Ya...I'd want wireless apple carplay and HD radio. I don't really need a cd player.

How do you guys install these aftermarkets without losing the steering wheel controls, backup camera, factory screens & settings, etc.?

The wiring harnesses you buy for the radios incorporate all of that and the factory settings are retained through things like idatalink compatible radios.

I don't know about the Tacoma but I have installed many stereos in other vehicles. My Jeep has steering wheel controls. I was able to maintain the use of them in the Jeep with an aftermarket stereo. I ordered the entire set up from Crutchfield. Anyway there is a module they have for various vehicle that you wire in to the factory harness adapter they also include in your kit. Then I had to do a few things when I connected it all up to my new Alpine and powered it on the first time. Simple stuff like press volume up x times on the wheel, wait for some blinks on the module press another button on the wheel per the instructions, click your heels a few times and you're done. Then pack it all in the dash and bolt it up. Been working over 6 years perfect.
    I highly recommend Crutchfield.

Yeah, but what if you need to change settings? How do you fix that?
