this is the t9. It is similar to dasita and other androids, but it has warranty and support. Its also cheaper at $380 shipped.(10% off with coupon) Its wireless carplay and wired android. Totally plug and play with no need for any other accessories. Retain all functions for camera, steering wheel and car settings. It has better audio output than kenwood, pioneer, and alpine. (4x30w). You can download any app from the google store or any apk from independant. Whereas kenwoods pioneers and alpines have carplay as their main feature, carplay is just an app in the t9. As a matter of fact, knowing how limited carplay is, these android units make carplay obsolete. It boggles my mind why anyone would pay $1500 for carplay, especially when they dont even fit the dash. Its either too small or too big. The halo has more bezel than screen. Its like you went back to those bigass ctr computer monitors. I stopped listening to mp3s, and just play mp4s(music videos). I also stream netflix, stream tv and movies from the various pirate sites, play golf, bowling, facebbok, instagram or just watch movies off the 64gb hard drive. It has splitscreen as seem in the picture, so you can do two apps at once. I literally could go on and on cuz literally, the skys the limit. Any other headunit, cant even compare because all they can do is carplay and thats it....sortof an insult, sortov a joke when considering they cost 2-5x the price of t9. Lots of different providers of android headunits, but none of them provide support or warranty. Only the t9 has a dedicated fb group with 4000+ members actively troubleshooting ideas and issues. I will bet you, the dasita guys havent figured out how to use their headunits with polarized sun glasses yet. Well we have cracked it. Not to push you either way, but im always comparing the competition and the t9 always comes out in top. Soon we will be having the software update for android 10 provided free. I dont think the same can be said for dasita and joying

The reason you cant get it to work is because of the lack of support for your unit. Being similar, im pretty sure i can solve alot of your issues. Why cant you get your phone hooked up? Have you paired it like any other blue tooth device? Next is carplay, do you have builtin wireless carplay? What app are you using for that?

How many usb ports do you have?
i would suggest you get the wireless carplay dongle off Amazon. Cartkitlink. It will help you with silmutaneous carplay and hotspotting

Only thing I can find is this...

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VDSCDX8/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza

Do you have a link to a bare unit without the whole dash assembly?

You dont. Message him to get the link for the wireless dongle. I dont have it on me. You can also buy it on Amazon. Dont get me wrong, you could just skip the dongle all together because it has built in wireless carplay.....but because of how it connects, you cant do wireless carplay and hotspotting at the same time. The wireless dongle solves that problem. You can tell him Huy sent you

Thanks for the suggestions it's super cool of you to help. I misspoke - I actually can get the phone connected and working through another application on the head unit, just not my main launcher.

I haven't set up car play yet - I'm an Android guy myself. I may look into it in the future as several friends use iPhones. For Android Auto I have headunit reloaded which works well both wired and wireless.

I have been waiting on an aftermarket stereo that uses the factory phone mic to upgrade. Haven't seen any that you can still use the factory microphone for calls. The ones I have seen you have to install the stereo microphone somewhere.

I started out wanting the Sony 210 then ran into a big negative about it somewhere in my research - Now I'm looking at the Kenwoods - the DDX6906S and the DNX576S.

I need to retain CD ability. Want a clean design something that blends into the dash well and retains controls. I'd like to keep the HD weather b/c it's helpful. I rarely run into outages where it doesn't load. I'd also prefer its a unit that can light up blue like the dash.

Replaced my entune with a pioneer 4500 wireless CarPlay/android. Also added a front camera and replaced the cigarette lighter with a usb/hdmi inputs. Also used the IDATALINK maestro interface. I used an alpine ilx207 in my 2018. I will never use alpine again, didn't like their top of the line speakers, the head unit OS is worse than the toyota and just wasn't impressed at all. They are all also like twice the price of way better pioneer or kenwood options. Alpine was good in the 90's and shit but I don't think they are anymore.

I had 100% of steering controls by using the maestro set up made for our trucks. They also make dongels to remove any emergency only camera use or setting changes.

Good luck, but don't go alpine if you want new, intuitive features.

I started researching the T9 head unit and I have two concerns: folks said the music would skip occasionally and there is no HD radio. *sigh* Still haven't found one that I'm dying for...

People still listen to terrestrial radio? Why?

As for skipping, can you point me to the thread(s) about this? I'm about to order one.

I watched a few youtube vids that reviewed it and they mentioned the skipping, and that the reviews they read said the same thing. That might be anecdotal, but I'm a little hesitant.
