You can figure it out. Plenty of info on forums. Taking the time to figure it is going to feel alot better than looking at the dealer and tow bill.

Ok, I was hoping it would be similar enough.

Speaking from experience, getting blown always leads to a happy ending.

Just putting this out... disconnect the battery before attempting to open that fuse box.

I want to thank everyone for their help and support. I tried it but what a pain in the ass this is I had to break down and get a tow although it did drive it bucks. Dealer is 6 miles away and the insurance covered the tow.

When it's all said and done and everything is back to normal laugh at yourself. It's part of owning any vehicle. Making mistakes is common. I have never switched the battery cables but I know now from your experience I never will. Good copy!

"Advance Auto won't give me a fuse unless they see the old one." - Why? What if you didn't have one, or threw it away, etc.?

Thanks for this thread. I'm also an idiot who must have wired it up wrong. I hope this fuse is all the blew. Taking that damn fuse box apart was hell. I'm certain plastic tabs are designed to break and prove to future owners that you are a dumbass. I really hope that I didn't pull any wires loose when I pressed the modules apart enough to get to the bolts. On my 2018, both bolts were 10mm. But taking that too module out was nearly impossible.

Tip: press and wobble and go around in a circle. It shouldn't take more than 15 passes if you're doing it right. Press a tab, wobble, press a tab, wobble. Ideally you should get it on only one or two passes. The second module came out in one and a half passes, but the first took all day. I think the mistake I made was not getting the first bit out first.

Anyway, now I wait for a fuse to come in the mail and hope and pray I can put it back together.

I found one loose wire that had electrical tape about 3 inches past the end of the wire. I'm hoping it was never connected to anything, but I'm afraid it was. Why would they just use tape and nothing else? Probably it wasn't connected, but who knows. It's red if that means anything to anyone. But everything else seems to be still in place more or less.

I wonder if putting a terminal fuse on at the battery post will prevent this from ever happening again. Presumably the post fuse would blow first, and it would be easy to get to.

If the first one that blows is a 140, should the post fuse be the same, or 130? I only see 100 and 150 for sale, unfortunately.
