Do you think those LEDs can be converted to white, I wonder?

I wouldn't be opposed to undertaking such a project, but I don't like the look of the Colorado light assembly. Are there any others you can think of that are slightly smaller and have a shape that might fit up against our trucks? I like the look of this one for Ford trucks, but fear it may be a bit large.

Another option i think would be great that doesn't require cutting up the truck is to purchase an aftermarket 3rd taillight assembly, replace the left and right side with LEDs panels and keep the middle intact as a brake lamp. I remember a thread here that this is the very thing a member is trying to do but cannot find it at the moment.

That's a great idea. It would require finding two white LED panels and one red LED panel. Each would need to plug into the sockets on the assembly, and it would be nice if the white panels can be angled downward. The other issue would be the need for a replacement lens. A smoked lens would look great while retaining the LED colors.

I have the prototype I'd be willing to sell. That unit won't work out of the box, the housing is wrong, so the LEDs need to be swapped into the OEM housing. I also have a custom lens that is a duplicate of stock to go with it.
