Only 58K miles but 23yo springs are sagging and passenger side has a broken leaf. I live in the pothole capital of the world and I’m only concerned about a comfortable ride. No off-roading and not much heavy loading. Not interested in a lift, unless it would improve the pothole rides. I’d like to keep it under $500 and I plan to do the work myself. Leaf spring replacement only. I have new gas adjust KYB shocks.

What leafsprings can I get and where to buy? Appreciate any help.

Google: General Springs, and or Old Man Emu (OME), for new. More info can be found in the suspension forum. I guess you can also go the auto recycler route.

you can use 4WD springs but they are stiffer.

General Spring and I think even Dorman has replacement springs. Check Rock Auto too.

Thanks for the advice. Always bothers me when folks ask their questions, get the advice and you never hear back. So here’s what I found so far:

Local Toyota Dealer quoted $2,724 for OEM ($2,168 for parts and $556 labor). Think I’ll pass, although he did offer aftermarket option ($1,968 for parts). This quote includes new shackles, bushings, etc. I’m hoping to reuse my shackles. I know they get pretty crusty, especially here in the rust belt. Please let me know your thoughts if you have experience.

RockAuto has only one option for 2wd. They are made by Dayton. $590 plus shipping and shackles (if needed)

There were several other vendors that were all in the $600 range plus shipping and shackles.

The best price I found was from General Spring at $320 plus $73 for shipping. They do not currently have shackles in stock.

I’ll keep doing a bit more searching and install the Generals this summer if nothing better turns up. Cheers

I'd post in the 5 lug forum for their ideas/experiences/interchangeability.

Once you know what options should work post in your regional forum and see if you can scare up some clean OE used ones for cheap from someone 'upgrading'.

Have you tried Advance Auto and Autozone too? I recently bought new front struts ,assembled with springs, for something less than $120 each with free overnight shipping and a lifetime warranty. These were for another vehicle but still....

Replace the shackles while you are in there, they are cheep enough and getting bushings out of old shackles is a PITA. On my 2nd gen they were something like $35 delivered for the pair. They are Toyota OEM shackles, no bushing since I was going all poly.

Good idea. I updated it. We’re in WI. I lived in FL for 15 years and still have a place down there.
