My 06 Tacoma has a very badly worn wheel bearing in the rear. It has been grinding for 2 months now and with me doing 1000km+ a week I need to replace it ASAP.

Toyota wants $1095+ gst to replace it.... seems crazy! Especially when the other 3 will need replacing soon

So I went to Midas and they wanted the same price because they have to get the hub assembly from Toyota and its $655

Can I just order a hub assembly like the one below? Or am I better to get a Toyota one... doesn't seem like the Toyota ones are any good since mine has gone at 75,000km's and the other 3 are on there way out.

Also is putting this hub assembly in a pretty straight forward job any mechanic can do... midas wasn't too keen on doing the job as they said if anything breaks its a pain to get parts from Toyota.

    Thanks
