replacing tailgate on 2010 tacoma

im thinking of buying an aftermarket tailgate to replace badly dented one on my 2010. Question 1: Any issues on the fit and look? Question 2: Can I take the backup camera from the old tailgate and fit it into the aftermarket handle.

 

Why not use all the old hardware on the new one? If it's a proper one, all the stuff should bolt in.

Aftermarket fit is always a gamble...

 

Fitment will depend on quality of the repro. Which one?

Yes. New tailgates are shipped bare and you have to transfer all of the hardware. It's a fairly easy job.

 

And any '05-'15 gate will fit

When I needed a tailgate, I bought new OEM and used up a favor at a local body shop to have it painted.

Since your truck is silver, you have a better than average chance of finding a used tailgate that’s already painted.

Whatever you do, don’t buy from Painted Auto Body Parts.
