    Fly safely up to heaven!!!!!!

    'High Flight'
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
    And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high unsurpassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

    John Gillespie

RIP "Chuck" you inspired me and generations. I am sad but you will touch the face of GOD and please welcome the folks that tried to do what you did!

I still have your letter to me framed on my wall.....

The golden age of aviation is slowly dying. Sad to see such an important part of aviation pass.

To "Chuck" ....Third Verse to YOU !

"Here's a toast to the host

Of those who love the vastness of the sky,

To a friend we send a message of his brother men who fly.

We drink to those who gave their all of old

Then down we roar to score the rainbow's pot of gold.

A toast to the host of those we boast, the U.S. Air Force!"

From me....Cadet "Mike" back a long time ago I will miss you and your advice to do what is RIGHT!

    I will miss you.......truthfully!

Here is something I can give back.....

I can only offer this to you and everyone you inspired

Your are probably looking down on all of us laughing and thinking about how we were inspired by you......

Thank you for your advice and being a courageous person with a laugh that was infectious! When everyone told you certain things were impossible....you proved them all wrong!!!!

    My inspiration!

    Peace!

    Because I Fly

    Because I fly
I laugh more than other men
I look up an see more than they,
I know how the clouds feel,
What it's like to have the blue in my lap,
    to look down on birds,
to feel freedom in a thing called the stick...

who but I can slice between God's billowed legs,
and feel then laugh and crash with His step
Who else has seen the unclimbed peaks?
    The rainbow's secret?
    The real reason birds sing?
    Because I Fly,
I envy no man on earth.
