So I shouldn’t take a bath in it?

Thanks for the advice though! No bleach will be used!

Mine was pretty beat as well when I bought it. I got it two years ago with 193k miles. I had to replace both front CV axles, the brake calipers, two rotors, all four shocks, and the carpet inside. the previous owners had spilled chocolate milk and coffee in the console and never cleaned it. The smell when you opened the door was terrible. I also got $7.83 in change out of the console and from under the carpet. I am at 219K miles and it's running great and smells much nicer now.

If you have the time just be patient and keep working, I'm sure it will turn out great. Look on craigslist for wreck 4Runners to replace interior parts you need. I ordered my carpet online and while it did not perfectly fit at first it has since settled and looks great.

Might be worth it to rent a deodorizing machine and leave it in there over the weekend (after you gut the soft interior first).

BTW bleach is the last thing you should ever use on mold.... Clorox is 5% Chlorine and 95% Water and when the chlorine evaporates you have just fed the mold water. Best thing to do is remove as much of the interior as possible, put on a mask, purchase a disposable shop vac and a bunch of dry rags and vacuum as much as possible and dry wipe the remaining.

Free.99! Couldn’t pass up this deal.

I’m pulling the carpet today! And replacing front shocks and cvs as well! I’m going to burn everything soft that I pull out  this will become a beach/work vehicle, so I may just bedliner everything inside. No carpet needed! I’m keeping an eye on CL and FaceTube for parts.

There are few wrecked 4runners in my area, I keep checking because mine was special ordered with leather seats and I prefer cloth. One in North Carolina has grey interior.
