Retrofit and BHLM Headlights

I've had mine for maybe 2-3yrs, and haven't noticed a change. I am in the Poenix area. I do have a protector film on them, sorta like a clearbra, which I put on to prevent yellowing and hazing. Not sure if that's helping it.

That film must be the ticket because I'm in a desert not quite as close to the surface of the sun as you and they're about fully clear which bums me out because that orange tint was fire. Really loved the way it popped.

 

same here. I just park in the driveway and im in bay area california, so its not getting blasted like in the desert, but it has damn near faded to clear. Bummer. If i’s have known these weren’t uv resistant i would’ve just gotten clear or smoked. Lesson learned

 

A good mojority of headlights here in AZ are peeling, foggy, hazy, or yellowish, after about 5 years. If not that, then they are pitted from rocks. I figured if I was spending so much money on the headlights, an additional $50 would be a good investment.

The stuff was thick, and definitely not easy to apply. I haven't noticed any issues with my headlights yet. I also clean them every month with Plexus aerosol spray.

 

I had OP apply the clear coat option but think that helps protect against physical damage that doesn't include discoloration. I wanna spring for the OEM LEDs at some point so I'll live with the loss of the beautiful orange given the alternative.

I took a few but you can’t see the difference in photos. It’s not drastic, but a very slight difference.

 

Another set just about finished up. Who’s next?!

Such a bummer. And i live in sf bay area, not like i’m getting blasted by Arizona sun either. Most of the time im parked in the shade of my tree in the driveway.

 

Dang that sucks. Figured they'd be more resilient to the sun. I miss that juicy orange look.
