Retrofit and BHLM Headlights

Quick question. For those of you running multiple diode dynamics hardware are you combining the wires into one driver? Such as having the diode dynamics switchback drl board and meso switchback sidemarkers. They use the same driver so I would assume you could technically run both off of one single box rather than having multiple little driver boxes per headlight?

 

Nope, should be ran as designed with one driver per accessory.

 

Look at these meso stage 3’s! I was happy to finally build a set with these.

I drove down some country roads for the first time a few days ago (vice where I live because even the outer roads are lit up well) and got flashed a lot.

Retrofits are bright. And yeah, I’m aimed.

 

Yea sometimes on a larger vehicle even aiming them "correctly" can be a bit high to some people. I also think people are just thrown off by the brightness. Give them a flash back to really blow their mind

 

So one guy let me pass him then he tailgated next with his brights on. He ended up slowing down and turning them off, but I was gonna let him get back around and turn my bar on with the brights and heat his cab up to 120°.

(3) Meso stg1 amber side markers
(3) light smoke side markers w/ amber led bulbs (as seen in picture below)

That’s my personal set. Retrofit + smoked side markers: $1005

Without the retrofits so visually the same with no upgrade in performance: $405

Alert: Ignorant question ahead:

What is/are a ballast in relation to the headlights?

Signed curious.

 

Basically a box that holds charge and supplies constant power to the bulb to maintain consistency.

 

So if you order a Halo type headlight your going to have to deal with a ballast (1 or 2) in your engine bay?

Only if you upgrade the projectors. If you keep stock projectors you won't need ballast. However, the halos have their own relay box but much smaller.
