Sure thing. I lived not too far from this part of Clinton Highway called "Beck's Curve" where tons of people died because the curve is too tight and they'd slide into the opposing lane. That and there was a couple of biker bars there too. I haven't lived in the area in 10 years. Sure looks different every time I come back to see my folks.

She aint lyin. My girlfriends neighbors are from Penn. on one side, ohio on the other, and michigan across the street!

They might not smoke us out completely cuz theres people from other parts of the south comin here to. My girlfriends family is from Mississippi, and all their people back where they're from want to move here. Must be the mountains? Its fine with me though as long as the people are nice.

Ya, I don't care where people are from exactly either. The people that bother me are what I call "Carpet-baggers"- the ones that had some crappy little house in NY or somewhere that they sell for 500k, only to move down South and buy some Gynormous 5 car garage Mcmansion. I think that's why so many people are moving in because its cheaper than most other parts of the country. Probably won't be that way forever. Seems like every other retiree I talk to wants to move from whatever cold, miserable place they live in to somewhere warmer, and that means basically anywhere down South. Oh well! Guess they bring lots of money to the area. Knoxville hasn't looked as good as a city ever in my lifetime. It was a dump when I was growing up. They've really fixed it up now.

Yeah Knoxville is HUGE now. My town is growin to. Once we got a walmart it blew up. Theres a town down the road nobody knows about unless they were raised in the area Im fixin to move to so I can escape all this big growth. I think thats the kind of place a lot of people look for when they move here is the "small town" feel. Luckily they havent found this small town....yet. Last census it only had a population of like 415.

You mentioned people buyin big houses when they move here from NY...you should see Ft. Loudon lake now. Its lined with 4 story houses.

Sorry for the thread jack. Its just what happens when you find someone on here that grew up in the same area as you lol
