Have any dcsb's replaced their stock suspension with front & rear schocks as well as leaf springs from a 3rd gen TRD Pro? Would love to see some pictures.

Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
just installed a set out of a 2020 on my 2005, all smooth. I will be looking for a straight surface to check where I am standing when it comes to alignment. I refuse to pay for stuff that can get done with simple tools and some patience. Gained about an inch on the front and now looks leveled. feels firm and smooth. sure the new coil springs and fresh shocks gave the feel of a newer 3rd gen.

BTW. i have the old stuff. willing to trade for a monster ultra gold and a bang birthday cake.

@jasonb I did my 13 dcsb with 90K on it. Night and day difference in handling, the infamous washboards here in northern Michigan and the way it sits. I totally would do it again. I did it by myself in my garage and bought the springs off these forums.

Can anyone advise or link which coils I need to buy to fit 3rd Gen bilstein struts? I have a set lined up off a 2020 TRD OR but it doesnt include coils. I'd like to just get the stock coils, unless something else is better advised.

That’s not any different I don’t believe... I thought only the OR’s have the tighter springs?

There is about one full revolution of spring more on the 3rd gen.

I meant the Sport versions vs. the off road versions.... I always thought the Sports were the same and only the off road's had the extra spring revolution? Or maybe I'm thinking the Off Roads had the softer spring rates vs. the Sports....

Great to see this thread still going strong! Sorry I've been away for a while.

To my knowledge the springs between the 3rd gen Sport and Off Road were the same. But the struts and shocks are valved different. The OR is softer valving and digressive while the Sport is stiffer and progressive. So, if you have a 2nd gen Sport and install the 3rd gen OR you'll notice a huge difference in ride quality. If you have a 2nd gen OR and get the 3rd gen Sport suspension you'll notice a considerate increase in stiffness but less body roll. Also something to note is the front sway bar thickness on both generations Sports are slightly larger and stiffer than the ones on the OR and Pro, which can effect ride quality slightly. I am curious to test them on my own truck by driving with one sway bar, swapping and then trying the other. But I have since installed 6112's and removed my sway bar.

I believe the second gens sport and off road are exactly the same suspension wise. I noticed a significant difference between 2 gen sport suspension and the 3rd gen sport. I am running a half inch spacer but I don’t think that changes much.

There is definitely a difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen sport suspension. Ima drive for another week or so, but so far I'm liking that it's not as bouncy, definitely absorbs better.

Has anyone installed Wheeler's T1 or Toytec 112-620-P 620lbs springs on 3rd gen bilstein shocks for their 2nd gen? I was given a set of new takeoff 3rd gen shocks and I'm curious if this is possible for the advertised 1.6 in lift and a better valved shock for the stiffer than oe 2nd gen spring.

Has anyone who has completed this gotten driveline vibrations from the 1" lift in the front? Or is that height difference negligible in potentially causing driveline vibration?

It won't cause any vibrations. My experience echoes most if not all who did this upgrade. You'll get a little lift and a much nicer ride. I would have to rate this in the Top Ten Best Mods......There's a lot of bang for the buck....

I had a little bit of driveline vibration before doing the 3rd gen OR suspension, didn't change after installing the suspension either. It actually got better once I installed my 6112's, dakar med leaf pack and ext length 5100's.

I just read through a bunch of this thread, say I did the 2020 OR suspension on a 2015 OR, that would give me 1in. in the front and nothing in the back? So say I do a AAL in the back and a 1.5" spacer in the front, with the 2020 shocks(I know spacers are frowned on) that would give me 2.5" in the front, and say I did the icon AAL in the back, it would give me 1.5 in the back, giving me a lifted and leveled truck?

My brother in law has .75 inch spacer (1.5 inch of lift) with progressive aal and over load and he is nose down.

When I see him I will try to remember to grab a measurement.

I would venture to say you might want a 1/4" lean spacer on the drivers side as well. If you are able to find a full leaf spring, I would go with that. The factory leaf springs aren't great. I upgraded my 3rd gen OR suspension to 6112's up front before having time to install my Dakar med leaf springs and B110 5100's. What I noticed is that I still had some "taco lean", even with the 6112's at 5/4 (driver/passenger) settings which indicated it was due to the factory leaf springs. I have never had more than maybe 4-500lbs in the bed and only 50k miles so I wouldn't assume they were worn. Once I installed the Dakar leaf springs the lean was gone and my acceleration shudder was almost completely gone! So you may want to look into a set of leaf springs instead of AAL's. Sometimes you can find used Icon or Dakars for a reasonable price depending on shipping as well. I got mine used off a local guy that was selling his 3rd gen Tacoma.
