I'm going to start this one back up, sorry. I've wanted this done to my truck from day one. I was thinking about laying down dynmat first for sound and insulation. Then roll over it with a liner. Any thoughts on this?

I had some issues with mildew in the carpet of my last vehicle (2006 colorado) and went the bed liner route. I ran into almost every inconvenience mentioned above. road noise, hot/cold, exposed wires, gaps that collect dirt. I wouldn't recommend laying down any dynamat because the bed liner has to be on a rigid surface with minimal flex, at least the cheap stuff does, otherwise it will flake

Do they sell a vinyl floor for our trucks?

Not the tacoma.... but I herculined the inside of 2 jeep Wranglers.
I herculined the bed of my 96.

    Just a thought....
The floor of your tacoma shouldn't be getting wet. You should investigate and find out where the water is coming from and repair it. Not only is your floor getting wet, but other items under the dash too.

Herculining the floor is a neat idea....and good to protect the floor for longevity. However, you really should repair that leak.

I don't have a problem with water leaks. I just hate the carpet. Plus my Bulldog sheds like a mother and it is impossible to get the hair out. I never seen any reason to have carpet in a truck anyways.

I'm going to monstaline the inside of my truck over winter break. I'll be sure to post up a threat with pics. Also as far as road noise. I've been prepping the inside so currently I have no carpets or any of the plastic molding in my truck, no center console either. I'm running 285/75 Goodyear Duratracs and the noise, while noticeable, really isn't that bad. I can use my cell phone without problem. I can only assume is will get quieter with a thick layer of bedliner.

Did you do anything about any of the exposed wiring, specifically the airbag wiring on each side coming out of the center console? My carpet is trash and currently weighing my options.

Looking at the photos I was surprised that I've not had any issues, but then I realized how I ended up protecting all that stuff after applying the bedliner to the metal surfaces...

    Heavy rubber floor mats.

There's tar-like sound deadening under your carpet.

Did the Benliner act as a Sound deadener?
