Notice how the stock is two tone as opposed to yours that are all one color

Don’t have any experience with that so can’t really help you there. My rear locker does come very handy tho when the rear wheels start spinning. Curious to see what people think about a 4x2 with rear locker in sand.

I doubt the rear locker is going to help too much considering how light the back is. The locker is more intended to help get traction when one side is spinning and the other still has traction by locking the rotation together. In the sand, both would just continue to dig in assuming you lost forward momentum. Used in conjunction with some traction boards and a shovel, the locker would help in getting unstuck. Personally, I would go out with a friend that has 4wd and test your limits.

My 2WD was fine on the beach, pick smart lines (hard pack sand) and/or keep momentum and don’t slam on the brakes creating a mound in front of your tires.

Don’t use the diff locker and turn on high traction surfaces as it’ll cause wheelhop and drivetrain bind. I’d even say don’t use the locker until it’s needed, so you have another attempt at gaining traction. Plus your inner wheel is going to lose traction when you make a tight turn (spinning same speed as outer wheel).

Yes that is an off road. Nothing about it is Sport. Obviously the dealer had it mislabeled (read: downright lied).

Yeah im little pissed about that, but should have been more educated... regardless the off road is pretty sweet, still happy with truck - just not the flaking rim....

For the auto transmission Tacos, the OR is the better truck functionally. Yours also has a couple bonus accessories like the roof rack and Pro, or Faux Pro, grille. Nothing to really be upset about unless you wanted a firmer suspension?

Heck. Even if you wanted an MT with the double cab, the OR is probably the better choice.

No, more or less just questioning why they labeled it wrong at dealership. Im fully satisfied with the truck - id rather have the off road package

Even Toyota dealers struggle with knowledge about model differences. Thankfully, there is the internet.

If he paid for Sport and got OR, better deal for him.

Thats what I was thinking. Probably was a loss for the dealer. I’m not sure what the hell happened there

How much did the OP paid for the truck?
How many miles on the truck?
    Any "add-ons" by the dealer?
How much is a Sport in that condition?
How much is a OR in that condition?
    Lose or gained?
    OP, fill in the info.

I paid 28,xxx for the truck. 22,500 miles. Add ons that came with the truck are the black grill, black fender flares, side food rails, roof rack, and the retractable bed cover. The dealership paid about 500 less then what I gave them from an auction a few months ago so they did not make much on it. I got the truck from my girlfriends good family friend dealership and they were about to put it up for auction again because they could not sell it off their lot in the last 60 days.

Regardless, the truck is in almost near perfect condition both in the interior and the exterior besides the one rim flaking.

It does look like the previous owner refinished or painted the original wheels and that is peeling.
