Rim size= more torque/power?

Thinking about downgrading from 16's to 15's. Just wondering if anyones know if a smaller wheel will give you better torque/power. It would make sense seeing as it would take less work to move a smaller wheel.

It might not even be noticeable, but im just wondering if anyone has felt a difference.

Do you mean a smaller rim and have a larger tire to keep the same overall diameter? If so, gains would be minimal unless the new rim/tire combo is significantly lighter. If you go to a smaller overall diameter, you'll get more power on the bottom end but you'll be pulling higher RPM's at highway speed so you could hurt your highway MPG's.

 

Yeah that makes sense, didnt think about the high end power.

 

I thought 15" won't clear the brake calipers.
