Yup still they went through another redesign because he didnt like the setup. Went from a mid mount to top mount. Power looks good from them though!

Check it out. This thing has no finish left. It's quite surprising as ADS is known to not experience this but these have lived a hard, tough life these last 3 yrs and 56kmikes

Would those guards have stopped this? Tha markings on the shaft are all just dirt and wipe right off

No they wouldn't have stopped it. The guards are to prevent rock damage to the shaft and lower mount.

The guys that run ADS up north have had horrible experience with rust protecting on theirs, from what I've read. Same with icon, so most run Kings and Fox in the rust belt.

Well the one on the other side of the truck faces the rear and has the same issue so its not caused by dirt.

Yeah, this is what I have read as well. ADS will likely be replacing those on warranty for me when I send them my shocks for rebuild. I am going to confirm this when I call them later.

I am betting that rust all came from when I went to PINS and there was massive sea spray all over us for 24 hours straight. been fighting that rust for a year

I have rock guards on my front shocks, they're not as beefy as the Rago ones for the rear.

    Yep. :fistbump:

Looks good. I think the front guards are for small rocks getting thrown or something because of how buried the front shocks are in the wheel well.

I want them for peace-of-mind. My rears are too close to my wheels to be hit. I've never hit them on anything.

Those do look sweet and they will help with rock damage to those spots. Will you get rock damage there, probably not.

Yeah, peace of mind. And painted black, would look good.

Ive been thinking of the ABS guards that are available but end up in the same thought process of will it actually do anything to help or is it just adding more weight to my fat pig.

I plan on the shock relocate, though, so I don't think they'll work.

This is true. I was considering the relocate for some time but that would mean another big ass purchase from ADS. Sooooo, hammer hangers it was for me instead. It doesnt get me a longer shock and all, but should give me some more droop and and better ride quality.

I would hope bare. These are items you would want to paint so refinishing isnt a pita if they get all dinged up

Edit: I should have done that to all my parts. But I chose PC, which is nicer but now all chipped up.

You're right, mine are in perfect shape....besides this rock chip that looks like it cracked the shock body. Probably why my rear end is riding like shit

Wow dude! Its amazing how bad mine look in comparison. That hole in your shock may be your problem :rofl:

Im guessing there used to be oil or air in that shock that is now somewhere in the Austin area

Edit: those guards that Josh has may have stopped that rock chip...
