Lol, I gained almost 30whp with just headers/exhaust on a stock intake on my previous vehicle.

I bet you have a huge cock also. I read your post, unfortunately you are asking a very specific question that is aimed at about 10 of the more than 200k members here and posting it in such a way to have very little chance of attracting a response from those individuals.

Correct, however similar to a NACA Duct if you control the opening you create negative air pressure which in this case establishes a vacuum drawing the air in, faster moving air is cooler also denser. This is NOT a discussion about aerodynamics I just want to know is someone has used one for ram air, I'd like some ideas for my application.

It seems that the cooler denser air would provide for greater combustion. It seems as though the air would be no less turbulent than the air intake in the current configuration. Probably won't result in significant MPG increases but it would be crazy to think that there would not be some noticeable gain in torque/throttle response.

Please someone post up your rk sport hood or whatever it is. I can't bear being this impressed with a dude who owns a hobby plane and was a ranger.

Again, ask the question directly to the people who have stated they have installed the RKSport hood on their truck. A quick search allowed me to find several of them, I'm sure a smart guy like you could figure out the search feature. Or better yet, use your wealth and pay someone like @Gadget@URD to figure it out for you. Why waste your valuable and limited time arguing with peons like myself.

Actually I lost Willy in a tragic boating accident so I devote my time to flying and tinkering with my Taco. I honestly couldn't care less who I attract to this thread, if you're not using the hood for ram air what could you possibly contribute? Seems a whole bunch are all butt hurt which now lets me know who are the real a-holes.

Posting a photo of a member using the hood with a snorkel next to it tells me all I need to know.

I don't want to see the hood SG, I want to see it used as designed and how that was accomplished before I attempt the same on my 3rd gen. I'm happy as all hell you're impressed, yes I was a Ranger although I'm not sure if my plane would be considered RC, do you own one an RC plane? Mine runs on 110LL. Again, have you anything to contribute?

Correct totally different services, boy some of you catch on quick. NSW is Navy, Rangers are Army. SEAL's are generally considered Tier 1 whereas Rangers are Tier 2 however RRD has been morphed into STB and now considered Tier 1 but I finished my time in '93 long before STB. We clear now? Now about using the hood as ram air?

Photos of the RKSport hood being used as ram air, which obviously will show a hole in the top of the air box. I've already searched this site and have only seen one being used and it was an open air box which is useless for ram air.

Ok because my reading comp sucks balls or I wasn't paying attention. Probably why my score were so low when I was trying to join the navy. I'm super glad you cleared that up about tier one vs tier 2. Though to my knowledge tier 2 was never a term. But hey. Whatever. I guess you were tier 2 rofl

"No no. The only guys we can muster are tier 3 and tier 4. No beards and they all play with rc planes"

Guy who worked at the navy exchange was tier 6 cashier.

So what you're really saying then is you have no useful contribution to this thread right? Yeah well you know the Navy and Marines aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree so I assume you never cleared MEPS then? Army! RLTW!!

Thanks Texas Toast, while I see the photo you posted I cannot see how you connected the hood to your air box oh yeah, that means you too have no useful contribution to this thread and like Texas Toast will dry up and blow away...
