I honestly don't think there is anyone lame enough on this forum to go through all the trouble of buying and installing an ugly (imo) rksport hood and try to use it functionally on a 6 cylinder tacoma. Function to do what?...ram air into your modded factory air box for a 2-3 hp gain. Lol.
No one has done it sir. Youre the first.
Are you honestly thinking about doing this? That's the real question here.

If you are ok with marginal improvements, quit arguing with us mongloids and buy the hood, a TRD CAI, modify the intake with a hole for the hood to dump into and seal between the two. For probably $1500 you could have it painted, installed and as functional as you could get.

Actually I am interested in seeing someone's anyone's photo/s where they made this hood attach to the air box. Physics, mech/elec engineering are irrelevant if what I know will only achieve marginal at best performance improvements. Ram air is relative as this is no 1969 Z28 w/302 and ram air hood I understand that. It will work though within reason it will work and any functioning hood scoop is clearly better than non-functioning.

Yes, I am honestly thinking about doing this along with a slew of other mods. It's a Toy to me but I want everything to be functional and look like factory.

What do you expect to get out of this ram air effect?

There aren't pictures because likely no one has done it, where does that scoop dump to in the engine bay? Directly over the stock box, slightly to the side, or way off? Would the manufacturing tolerances that cause issues with fitment in the F-150 version show up in other places? Would the extra weight of the RK hood negate all the hard work you've done?

I likely will do just that, waiting for tomorrow and a phone call to RKSport to see if Redline Tuning's gas struts will work and how they are handling water intrusion. For a great deal less than $1500 this can be accomplished. It would be nice to see photos, but since the hours passed OP and no photos just arguing has ensued I'll assume photos aren't forthcoming. I did get my laundry done though...

    Still waiting for it

First, I'm not yer pal. Had you talked to me to my face as you did in the first 10 posts of this thread I'd punched you in the throat and called your wife to come come get you with your phone.
You have no idea my mechanical, education, or military background.

Based on your behavior here, you'll be son to me till you:
    1. Apologize to me
    2. Apologize to your Army brethren for embarrassing them.
    3. Apologize to the Marine Corps for such disrespectful statements
    4. Approach all forward conversations with an open mind, willing to learn.

Till then, I'm going to sit here with my 3 fingers of Jeffersons Ocean and poke holes in the logic of every post you make till you get bored and quit.

A question for RKSport tomorrow although it looks to dump right above the air box. As for F150 issues I have no clue, I want and need a tight fit between hood and CAI because MAS's don't deal well with leaks.

Why is the OP calling everyone dumbasses and using insulting rhetoric in response to opposing opinions about a fucking functional hood scoop?

I have a scoop on my truck, it doesn't work, but it looks pretty cool. I even put little black TRD emblems on it for that early 70's muscle car look.

... and if you don't like it, you're fucking stupid... and poor. I can say that because I have two university degrees and a journeyman's ticket. ;)

He'd be better off with a stupid snorkel for "ram air" as it least that places the intake outside the slipstream of the front end.

Can't seem to get though his head that such a contraption would not be better, but equivalent to stock.

@SoFlaTacoTRD I have a physics question for you. What is the maximum air resistance against the face of a ban hammer with a flat surface area of 16 square inches of its traveling at 120mph with an air temperature of 18*F and 5% humidity?

Shocking I know. What with being super duper smart, ridiculously wealthy, best ranger winner, top gun and ultra humble you'd think he'd have ten wives.

Look here for how it worked on a Durango. http://www.dodgedurango.net/forums/...dback-ram-air-hood-post197365.html#post197365

    1500 comes from:
799.95 for the hood plus 130 shipping to Miami.
    384 for the TRD CAI.
That leaves less than $200 for paint which I wouldn't trust. @andyr562 paid $240 but he got a deal.
