I'm glad you said that. I thought about not rocking the boat for my best chance at a refund. But nah...

i don't get businesses doing this in the age of the internet. if 2 people see this & decide against getting an RLD cap, it's cost them more than just replacing the cap outright.

on the other hand, clearly they have plenty of orders and don't really gaf if they lose business in this market.

anyway, i have been holding out for one of the 3 metal cap manufacturers to come up with a handle that can be operated from inside. it looks like that won't happen anytime soon though. that aside, honestly, RLD had made it to the top of my list for a few reasons. but there's no way i would pay $4k+ for a product that you can't get service for. that'd be stupid. especially when RSI is getting such glowing reviews for service after the sale.

I don't get it at all. They honestly have a great product. Exactly what I want and I like the way it looks. Could be developed further for leaks and some small stuff but I really like it. I'm scared to own it though. If anything breaks I'm F'd.

I'm on the fence about just taking the L and selling it for whatever I can get now. Just get an RSI or Alucab when i get some more money. Everyone can't be this bad at business.

I might get an accessory to square up with the local rep. If I do I'll spray it maybe and keep it. I'll just pray nothing else goes bad? lol

It looks like they have a lot of orders but they probably just can't keep up with what they got. Maybe they're too understaffed with disgruntled workers, lack of material, unmaintained/broken equipment, and/or a lack of management/quality staff.

Or they treat their factory and Vendors like shit too? Thats probably the real reason the windows leak and the stainless steel rusts. They're out there deucing on people for a couple bucks.

Sorry to hear that a company is not standing behind what the sell. That is 100% the reason I wanted to start Tiny Rig.
If any of y'all in SoCal are in need of a canopy, Tiny Rig has got you covered. We sell Alu-Cab and we stand by everything we do. You will deal with good people and get responses back very quickly.

Agreed. Tom is the only person involved doing something though. RLD seems like unreasonable, heartless people.

They are doing poor work and dumping it on the importer and customer. That isn't fair.

Do they respond to you and your warranty claims? They just treating me special?

I wouldn't put this just on RLD. The importer and whoever is selling you a product has a moral obligation to help you, sometimes it's at a loss.
"Do the right thing" is a core value we have at Tiny Rig. It doesn't sound like either of them are doing the right thing.

Any updates yet? They want me to file a warranty claim, but I don’t know where to find the serial number. How do you get your serial number?

Hey there. RLD hasn't replied to any emails since they told me they will not help me in any way. The email I posted.

The importer offered to send me a roof rack. It's what he is able to do. He explained RLD owes him a lot of money for other warranty claims and he can't put out anymore money.

I accepted the roof rack. I'm square with the importer but so disappointed with RLD and the purchase in general.

My shell is still less than one year old. They will do nothing to help me with warranty repair.

I hope you have better luck. Keep me in the loop.

Is that rust you have on the pressure vent?

my importer told me to get a quote for a paint job. Said they take care of me within reason.

    Dude,
So I got a re-paint job which was hard to find someone to do. Looks good, but the bad news is the bolts welded to the latch that holds up the back window panel are rusted and one broke off with ease. 4 months. RLD IS GARBAGE!! Expensive GARBAGE.

Completely disagree with you. If it is a "one off issue" then they should be more than willing to take care of it, quickly. RLD looks bad here and doesn't deserve people's business if this is how they handle a one off issue.

This whole thread is about RLD not handling a warranty issue. Bro.

you sound like you work for RLD. Zero issues. I’ve already found several posts about rusting similar to mine. The email from his importer even mentions how he has over 2 dozen unresolved warranty issues. So kick rocks!

Sorry, when I said kick rocks that means fuck off. We both dropped 6k on a product that’s already falling apart and they, RLD won’t do shot for us. So yes. I’m calling them garbage…”genius”.

No, just dirt. I don't wash it too well. It's always going to look like shit.

Can I ask about how much? Everyone I talked to wanted over two thousand to paint the shell and doors.
