Ok ladies and gentlemen, I need some advice. We had a Tacoma run in Tucson today and I had an incident of the way home. Let me start off by stating that I have 6k 55w HID's on my truck. A man in the truck in front of me got out of his truck at a stop light and approached my truck. He began swearing and using hand gestures to show his disapproval of me following him with my brights on. I told him that my brights were not on and showed him by turning them on. He was furious and countinued his tirade. As the stop lights countinued, so did his hand gestures and comments. Now the road is two lanes, me in the right and him in the left. My right lane was to get on the highway and his was to go straight. He turned his truck and rammed me before I got on the highway. I called 911 and he stopped. When the police showed up, he said that I rammed him..yes he said that me and my very expensive, highly modified Tacoma rammed his piece of shit 2003 ford work truck. Since there were no witnesses, the cop said if he took our statements at face value, both of us would be arrested. He did nothing. He exchnaged our insurance information and told both of us to leave...what the hell do I do now..do i have any recourse? I photographed all aspects of the scene including the cars, lanes, signs, etc...I feel like this is a complete abortion of the criminal justice system! What can I do?

What part of your truck was hit? Front quarter panel, complete side or rear quarter panel? Were there any whiteness to him getting out of his truck to yell at you?

The yelling/exiting of the truck occured three stoplights earlier and I didnt think it would escalate. Noone stopped to say anything on behalf of either one of us. front left quarter, left door, left slider, left mirror, frame(front), and whole front end

complain that you dont feel the situation was handled properly...maybe the supervisor can explain why or why not his officer handled it the way he did

I think that you should go into the police station and speak to another officer just to get a second opinion. Sometimes police officer will miss lead you because they are to lazy and maybe the officer didnt want to file an accident report. The officer had no bases to state that he would have to arrest both of you. On what grounds would he arrest you? I think he was just be lazy and didn't want to file a accident report because that involves allot of paperwork.

I think you have up to 30 days to file a police report/complaint. You did nothing wrong as your story indicates and I would take the ford driver to court but make sure you have a police report if you go to court. Just my 2 cents!

    I would have been pissed.

pursue this with all that you have.

get a lawyer if you need to, but fight it and make the guy repair your truck

That's. Pretty shitty. Of that Guy. Take good pictures of the damage. If its along the side of your vehicle how would u have rammed him. Where was his damage? Front? Or was it a sideswipe?
