    oil change...
So last week I separated from the airforce and drove from mountain home , ID to Wichita falls, TX 1410 miles total.

The first tank of gas I got about 15.1 mpg
that was with cruise on through hilly country

    second tank was about 18.2
I stoped using cruise bc my truck kept trying to drop gears to maintain the speed going over the hills.

after that I averaged between 17-18.5 mpg
and I had about 1000 lbs of stuff in my truck with my tailgate down and bed all the way full.
the speed on the highway was 75 mostly the whole way so I was going between 70-80

Overall Im very pleased with my trucks performance

Im sure the trailer had alot to do with it... but 12mpg? really? to boot i just put a brand new K&N filter and a fresh oil change royal purple 5-30... i did use premium on every fillup and figured that might help...

well after getting annoyed with cruise control because it would rev really high to catch up back to its set speed i had which was around 70mph... i decided to not use it and tried to keep the rpms around 2 grand or a little above... haha yeah my continental style tire eheh!

yea my cruise would do the same thing, really annoying. I couldnt imagine having to fight it with a trailer!

Same experience here. I drove from LA to Dallas. I noticed a drop in MPG when using cruise control. It's better to control the RPM yourself; you could really get better MPG.
