Proven to work. This lady was waiting for me to come out of the grocery store to tell me what my "steppies" did to her cute little Prius. There must have been a big ass snake in her car judging by the damage on her door. That edge of the door is bent.
Funny thing is she tried to argue that I "shouldn't" have "steppies" installed. I reminded her that this situation is exactly one of the reasons why its there.

    Should've taken pics.

Maybe if she would have watched what she was doing when she was swinging her door open that wouldn't have happened....

Oh, and I'm sure she would have waited there to let you know she dinged your door if you didn't have the steppies in place. :)

Should've looked for the tiniest bit of damage to your step and asked for her insurance info. I'm sure the reaction would have been priceless.

(no, not worth wasting anyone's time on following up on, just suggesting it for the sake of messing with her)

Door protection is exactly why I bought my cast aluminum steps. I wasn't real enamored of any of the rails I'd seen at the time and don't have much need to jack the truck up from the rails.

I've got their sliders and I'm happy with them. BAMF also makes a nice set which are a little more affordable I think but longer lead time.
