Hello, I was wondering if anyone did an extensive rodent proofing of their 3rd gen tacoma(mainly mice). I plan on getting 1/4" mesh and blocking the cabin intake. I also plan on applying fluid film and maybe spraying some pepper spray after the fluid film(I need to read more if any negative consequence can arise from this)

My dads 2017 Tundra wires have already been damaged along with my moms 2013 Lexus.

I thought about adopting a barn cat, but the cat would have to get a long with my golden retriever. Ill look into the tape as well.

Cat doesnt have to live inside, just leave food out for it to keep it around but not enough that it doesnt do its job.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Place a few moth balls under the hood or underneath the engine compartment where stored.

Wherever the vehicles are parked, make sure no kind of pet food is stored or put out nearby. It will attract rodents. If not a cat get a black rat snake.

Best solution is to get rid of the mice. Farm cats are the best followed by a good mousetrap.

The walk the plank mousetrap is by far the best I’ve ever used and pretty much eliminated my mouse problem.

Trying to mouse proof something is a lost cause. Trust me. They will find a way no matter what you do.

Put some of these on the ground under your truck. It’ll get rid of all mice in the neighborhood.

I have never heard of this being a problem. I also agree it’d probably be easier to get rid of the mice. Slap a load of mousetraps around and put peanut butter on them.

Bucket traps work great! Have used them at the cabin for years, they can catch a lot of mice in no time!IMG_20181028_0926424.jpg

Agreed. After I set mine up I’d typically find 2-3 every time I’d check it. I’ve lost count of how many it’s caught now, far more than anything else I’ve ever used

My record is seven in one night! Was getting tired of droppings all over my BBQ and patio furniture every morning, set the bucket up by the BBQ with some peanut butter and bam! Got the whole family in one night!

3EB9868D-ACD5-4CAA-ACE7-F80FF16F9422.jpg Pestzilla works grate. 7000 volt rat zapper bit over kill for field mice. Been using one for a while now to keep mice out of my garage and cars. Best trap I have used. Plus no mess clean up.

I was recently seeing evidence of rodents under the hood of my wife’s car and my dodge truck. I sort of ignored it at first and saw that it/they started peeling the insulation off the hood liner and were starting to build a nest inside one of the hood braces. Bought a bait station and put it under truck and a snap trap under hood on top of exhaust manifold. Night 3 whamo got him!!! Big mf’n rat!!! I was suspecting rat not mice. None since then a bait station hasn’t been touched since.

Did the same as you. Don’t turn your back on them. They will come back. Had them rip hood insulation and lived in the sheet metal support of the hood. Had them living in the air box. Used snap traps too. They get wise to them.

I still keep the trap set under the hood and bait station is behind a bush about 5’ away from the truck. Since this guy got trapped no signs since- not prints or anything not even under hood of wife’s car. I didn’t mention the prior to the last kill I had a miss on the trap but did see a big blood splatter on the driveway under the truck. It definitely had to be the mate of the one that was killed 2 days later. Just seeing that damage that they caused still pisses me off and look online for a replacement hood liner but they want well over $100 just for the shipping!!! Recently I’ve been seeing these tv ads for these things that go under your hood and you connect to the battery. I think they put out some frequency the drive mice away. Curious if anyone had any feedback on something like this.

Mine ate the windshield wiper tubbing at the nozzles not once but three times at 40 bucks a setup( hard line and rubber ) as for the hood insulation wasn’t worth the 100 plus dollars to replace . So just pulled it out.

They've always worked for me too but this is about rodents. Lol. Are you saying the rodents avoid the smell of the items or do they eat it and die? Thanks, Rick.
