Rolled truck - question for those who have filed major claims with their Taco

Its a Dodge Avenger. Nothing special here, but not terrible either.

if it's totaled insurance will pay you the replacement value. ie, what it would cost for you to buy the exact same truck in the exact same condition.

the value is debatable, so debate it.

We'll see how this all turns out. Talking to the adjuster, he feels like it will likely get totaled, but he needs to see it first. Should have an answer by tomorrow or Wednesday. If they do total it, he said I'd have money before the end of the week. They just arranged for my rental car through Enterprise, so they are doing OK so far.

I dug around a bit yesterday and have a pretty good idea what the truck is worth, so I'll definitely fight if need be. Not sure about parts for sale yet, but someone has already asked about the stalk. If I do get it totaled and I do not buy another Tacoma, I'll sell what I have. I have Weathertech mats (gray), Scosche single DIN kit, cruise, some tool/flashlight holder I made, and an A.R.E. CX cap. Damn cap is only two weeks old and matches the factory Indigo Ink Pearl perfectly. Doh!

Update:

I drove down to meet the adjuster at the body shop on Thursday. Turns out the trip was worth my time. Luckily, my original adjuster was out of town, and the new adjuster was MUCH cooler about the situation. Long story short, we discussed the situation and when the bill rang up: TOTALED! Turns out the truck sustained about $19k of damage. Some of this was definitely a stretch, but he estimated OE sheetmetal and hardware right down to the info stickers.

All, in all, I made out pretty well. Paid off the truck and left me with a decent size check in my pocket. Thank you Toyota....for saving my life all while retaining value!

I just sold my stock 245/75/R16 tires and i still have the never been used spare on the rim if you are interested.

if you need just the tire too i can do that.

The truck dont look that bad actualy. Im surpised its totaled. Probly he sold at acution to a canadian company take it over the border fix it and resell it. Glad your ok, these trucks are awsome in crashes. Love owning one and just orderd my 09.

Sorry to hear about your truck, but I am really glad that you walked away unscathed. I can't wait to see what you replace it with. That TRD Off-Road sounds like fun!

glad to hear it all worked out. I had my transam for 3 months when some yahoo ran a red light and into my driverside front wheel. I took it to the most expensive shop I could find and they priced it out for a total. frame was bent in the front. It didn't look like much, but once you started adding it up, it cost quite a bit. good luck with your search.
