I can send the CAD files I drew up so you can have it cut at a local shop. Won’t be any shipping that way. It’s a 54” design, so you just trim 2” off each side of it. $50

2013 Tacoma TDR Offroad Automatic. 2.5" lift in the front, 3" lift I the rear, 285/75r16 BFGs
Bought it with drop bracket lift and BFGs (good find). Took it to a shop to weld on a stock frame bracket to undo the drop bracket lift and install a proper spring lift. Hoping to regear to 4.56 and put on front and rear bumpers in the future. Also, of course hoping for a supercharger someday.
Hey insano7101! I saw your original site is down, and maybe you're sending out cad files? Just got a 42" light bar and am about to install on the roof rack. Let me know if I can get a set of cad files. STP files work? Wana slides some o those into my dms? Maybe just post them all for the community if you're not selling anymore?

Edit - actually read other posts and noticed you didn't sell the originals, but same question. ;)

I’m not the OP. I saw he wasn’t making them anymore and made my own. I sold a couple I had but didn’t have enough interest to go full production on them. I can email the cad files so you can have a local shop do the cutting and there won’t be any shipping or I can have my shop cut them, and I can ship, but that’d probably be more expensive. I email my cad drawings for $50

@JacobFR were you able to purchase the actual brackets from someone on here? or just the digital drawings?

I happened upon this thread after putting a 42" curved lightbar on my 96 4runner, and getting a lot of glare on my windshield. I ended up making my own visor, since the 54" one listed here seemed like maybe a little too big of a piece to start with.

I wanted a way to attach it in the middle like insano7101 had theirs, but I decided to try to use pop rivets going into the bottom fin of the light bar heatsink. That may void the warranty of the lightbar, but it seemed like a clean attachment method.

Did some measurements of my bar and drew up a design in illustrator. I had it cut and shipped by the folks over at sendcutsend.com out of 0.125" Aluminum 5052 for about 60 bucks. Note that my light bar was a 42" inch curved Auxbeam lightbar. Your mileage might vary for other brands.

The pattern that I sent to sendcutsend looks like:

    fGmkQwYBir0XYpnxnT6_-O6ovSDc97huTDGmY_5q_1f2263f032fc651d11c76f242d5d2e24d43753f2.jpg

The tabs on the end need to be bent up to make brackets that match up with the light bar mounting screws. I did this fairly easily with a vice, some steel strap, and a pair of long needle nose pliers. My understanding is that the Aluminum 5052-H32 sheet metal bends pretty well, and it did. I think other alloys though, like 6061 will be less forgiving and snap.

It took about 4 days to cut and show up at my house.

The shipped piece and my light bar:

After bending the end tabs, I painted the visor using some self-etching primer and black rustoleum. I lined up the bar, and drilled holes for the rivets in the bottom fin of the bar. I used 1/4" grip 1/8" diameter aluminum pop rivets.

So far it seems like everything is working pretty well, but I've only had it on for a few days. I have a lot less glare on my hood and windshield.

The pattern I sent to get cut can be found here, if you are interested in doing it yourself.

Looks great, clean install and thoughtful design.

A strong word of CAUTION though: I purchased a nearly identical product and installed it with 1/4" pop rivets. Lasted for a couple months until my glare visor/deflector/wind dampener suddenly snapped off of my light bar while doing about 70mph on the highway (insert loud bang here). Light bar stayed securely attached to my rack but the visor went flying and landed in the ditch. Thankfully it did not hit any cars behind and nobody was injured. However, this is a serious danger hazard and could have resulted in an accident or flown through another vehicle's windshield.

I would caution you to install much higher grade rivets and potentially reconsider the fastener aspect of the design altogether, as your current rivet grade is not strong enough to handle winds at highway speeds. Just don't want anyone to be unnecessarily injured...

Huh good to know. It is bolted on on the sides, so I would think that it wouldn't just snap off if the rivets do fail. I'll keep an eye on it.

Edit: I wouldn't mind seeing a link to the other thing that you purchased.

That was the million dollar move. Good thinking. Mine was not bolted on (just rivets). You should be good then!

I sold my Ram that had the 54” on it and kept the visor I made. Thought I would use it for another project but not going to do that now. If you’re local to Salem to Portland, OR we can meet up or I can ship it.

Did you make that piece the minimum width to cover just the glare on the windshield and hood specifically, or did you experiment with cardboard patterns (or other material) to see how wide/narrow the flat piece needed to be?

I bought kne kf these from u yrs ago and my light bar only has 1 screw that holds it to the mounts on the end, so i couldnt tighten it enuff to keep the wind going down the rd to not blow it up and cover light? Going slow it was fine. I have just never done anything else with it. But it works awesome when on
