NRS makes some cheap towers. You'd have to fab up the mounting brackets (might be able to source them somewhere) and drill holes and such, but it is cheap and low profile. I went with Yakima on my new topper and I'm regretting it - wishing I just put the NRS ones on.

I used to run these with their crossbars, but really the nice thing about these towers is that you can fab up any bars you want. My brother runs them with 2x4s and outdoor carpet.

There are plenty of places to buy it too. Check out McMaster-Carr and Grainger. I'm a huge fan of McMaster-Carr's site and customer service, but I haven't done too much price-comparing. Also, I bet some physical hardware/supply stores have it stocked too.

Another positive to this route is the endless adjustability of 80/20. Say you need more bars, attachment points, or whatnot in the future, it'd be super easy to add on.

Had installed by my Leer/Cap dealer when my cap was installed.

If I had to do it over, I would have gone with the track system with shorter towers. More versatile/adjustable.

Quick clarification/correction - I bought the 58" round bars and cut them down to about 52". I then installed these end caps. Much sturdier than the plastic caps that come with the bars. I put a small bead of RTC silicone on the inside of the cap to keep any water from getting inside the bar.

This system/set up has been perfect for my needs. I primarily use it for my canoe.

    Yep.
Hey old friend. Been working on a new to me 100RCC cap and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind grabbing a couple measurement for me? Been trying to find these dimensions and I'm coming up empty.

    - Distance between the left and right mount bolts
    - Distance from the mount center to the window radius

    Thanks OZ!

    Yep.
    Really appreciate it Ninja!

Primed and painted the cap over the weekend. Working on locating the L-tracks and getting my DIY rack installed this week.
