I carry a paddle board, and also as a ladder tie down point. Works great.

I was told that adding the clear silicone to the roof mounting bolts would help contain any potential leaks, but isn't necessary. I chose to err on the side of caution and use the silicone. Couldn't hurt, and I'm not planning on taking this rack off the truck again.

Once you have a rack on a vehicle, you will always miss it if you don't. I could have gotten an aftermarket, probably cheaper and better quality, but it's just a needed item in my mind so the truck needed to come with it.

^ This. I didn't have one on my '09 and now that I have one on this truck Ill never go back. I dropped the kayak on top the other day and it was way better than angling it funny in my bed or having it stick out the rear of the truck.

Especially with DCSB!!! That 5' bed sure is just small enough to be annoying at times, especially when you have a ladder, kayak, sprinkler pipe, etc. The roof rack does help a lot.

I just received the OEM roof rack. Called the dealer and they wanted $275 to install :)

Anyway, I am reviewing the installation guide.
What's rapguard and where's it located?

    1. Remove the Ditch Moldings.

    1. (a) Pull back the rapguard, about 10” from each side and cut off the excess. Add vehicle protection to the top of the doors and down the side of the vehicle.

There's no "rap guard " that I know of. Start at the back of the truck for each ditch molding. Pull the piece out from behind the rear window seal, and pull straight up. The ditch molding is held in by tape and a clip. Easy to remove. What other questions do you have?

    Thank you

So, I'll remove the whole ditch molding on both sides and follow the instructions in the manual to install?

    That first step was confusing/misleading.

Also, I am surprised no one make a video tutorial on the OEM roof rack installation. Searched on YouTube but didn't find one.

I thought about making one but it really isn't that hard. The instructions are pretty well spot on. You'll need good Torx bits and a 1/4" torque wrench (Harbor Freight, ten bucks) to install the roof rack. Piece of cake!

My truck came with the OEM roof rack. I plan on taking them off and going with an aftermarket rack in the future. Do I need to get non roof rack moldings or anything else to go back?
