Hello, I was wondeing if having a roof basket (like a yamika) mounted to the roof rails would decrease the mpg? I have a 09 forester and when i put one on it goes from 28 to 20 highway even empty.

Yes, it will make a difference, even empty. I don't think it will be 8 mpg difference like the forester, but it might be 1 or 2. The faster you go the more it will be impacted exponentially.

Does the roof rack on the Tacoma have any real world effect on economy when the rails are in the storage positions?
