Ahhhh ok, that's helpful. I'll see if I can take some pics in the daylight and post them here. I have one of the four pieces mounted, but don't think it is as sturdy as it needs to be.

So I ended up ordering everything I needed online and got it all set up. My record time for taking the RTT on or off is 4 minutes (with two people).
I bought the heavier duty nuts, then screws and washers that fits Prinsu's rack and every lined up perfectly.
So FrontRunner's quick release mounting systems is compatible with Prinsu's rack. You would just need to source your own bolts/washers/nuts. One single mounting point was strong enough to support me (185 lbs), so I'm not concerned with all four points holding 25lbs each. I've taken it wheeling and everything stays put. Also, no issues when testing on freeway at 80-90mph.

Great job. Any pics of the mounts with tent installed? Could you list the hardware you used? I’m thinking about giving this a shot.

Yes! please let us know what hardware you used! I’m in the same spot with my tent. I can barely get my truck in the garage & now with the tent there is no way. Would love to mount the front runner quick release to my prinsu!

Reviving a the thread here as I want to use the quick detach mounts. List of hardware used? Thoughts on the setup several months out? How did you attach the mounts to the tent itself? I have a tepui and it has the rails on the bottom. Cheers

Everywhere is sold out of the quick release mounts. As I’m waiting for mine, I wanted to ask why you chose to mount these underneath the bar, and not above it? I’ve got an upTOP rack, and am debating on getting Prinsu’s mounts instead of waiting for Frontrunners...

    working on it.
Thanks for posting this! I ordered and returned the quick release mounts because I was told the same thing by Front Runner that it wouldn’t fit. My 30-day return window was expiring so I just returned then thinking it wouldn’t work and I didn’t have time to mess with it. What made you mount them underneath the bars and has that held up? Seems like it would be putting a ton of pressure on just the bolt heads vs the entire cross bars.

You’re absolutely correct. It would be smarter and more logical to mount the quick release mounts on top of the cross bars, however I wanted the lowest profile possible and minimal wind drag. With that being said, I can proudly say that I’ve officially had it on for 2 years without any issues. The rails on the rooftop tent sit on four (4) Dakine pads I have as well so the weight is evenly distributed across the entire rack. I didn’t have notifications on and didn’t see all the responses here.

One of my buddies just bought a Prinsu rack with the 2nd generation Front Runner quick release mounts. The new version of the mounts need to be mounted on top due to the design. I’ll post additional pictures of how we made it possible. All you need is eight (8) “1/4-20 standard T-Nut & 1/2” screws” (plus washers). The cost $4 + $5 shipping. My guess is that FrontRunner says they’re not compatible in an effort to draw in more people into their own roof rack market. Stay tuned.

G3T Lost, I'm about to order the Front Runner Quick Release Tent Mount to use with my Prinsu Roof Rack. Just want to confirm you were able to make it work with the 8 "1/4-20 standard T-Nut & 1/2 screws? I plan to mount the quick release system on the top of the crossbars vs the bottom b/c I'm not worried about clearance. Any advice?
