Does any one in the Vancouver area own a Tupei Autana roof top tent? Companies sell them in a box only and have other models on display. Finally got authorization to drop some money on one by the wife but she wants to see it and check it out in person before we drop $4000 plus on one. Your assistance is appreciated, help a brother out, humbly yours

Did you ever pull the trigger on this brother? I have the 2 person sky ayer, but I need to upgrade to a bigger tent because we have kids now. How does it sit on the shortbed? I know it will hang over a bit

It fits and it is massive and heavy but it fits 3 adults comfortably, not regrets until my son and I have to lift it up there it is about 200 lbs plus.

That’s awesome man! Love the set up! Is that a long bed? I have a short bed so mine will probably hang over a bit.

It's a Canadian brand called westcan and is fully adjustable.

EDIT: looks like an old thread, my bad

Dang $4k?!? I got my Smitty Overlander XL for like $800. It's massive inside, haven't had more than two people in it but I feel like three would be more than comfortable and 4 is possible.

Nice setup, the tent ended up costing me $3000, plus $800 for the rack and $200 for the bed adaptors.

What canopy and support setup is this? I want to get a canopy where I can have my dogs so the commercial ones won’t work I need windows that open and I like the way your mounting bars for the RTT go outside the canopy. Where’d you get that setup? I’m looking for something like it

https://westcanmanufacturing.com/truck-products/over-canopy-racks/ Its a Canadain company called Westcan Manufacturing. There also an adaptor kit that you have to buy in addition to the rack to make it fit. You have to dremel out the bottom outside lip off the canopy if it has one so the adapter plates fit flat. It is a L shaped bracket that screws into the rails inside the box via t-slot nuts. The weight of the canopy which on top of the bracket and secured down makes it rock solid. I will attach a photo shortly.

That is a slick set up best I’ve seen. What’s the adapter kit include and where do I find that?

Here is the canopy where I had to trim and the way it mounts into the bed rail. I decided to trim it out with rubber door trim strips off Amazon. Then some Proform black chassis repair body shop chalk around the canopy adaptor plates to make it waterproof and it looks better than a jagged fiberglass edge.20190620_204654.jpg 20190620_204718.jpg 20190620_204742.jpg

It's on the website noted previously or you can get a hold of NSOR.COM North Shore offroad in Vancouver/Langley BC , Canada and they will hook you up. 1-800-624-2468 Say Trevor Froese sent you their way. Been dealing with them since 1992 good people. I bought the set up from them so they should have it on file for a second gen short box. Took 8-12 weeks from the supplier but they should have some already made. Its adjustable and just clears my garage door frame with the lift and tires just face the top tube tabs down when the tent is not ontop. Need more info let me know we are here help each other spend :spending:

Sweet that is a great setup cause it keeps all the weight at the front and back of the bed and off the canopy unlike all the others I’ve looked at really liking the idea. I have a 2012 long bed will this work with any canopy I buy as long as the canopy roof is level and one of the ones that’s higher on the rear?

It is adjustable so weither it is a flat or raised back canopy (yes they are level) longer or shorter bed as long as there is a canopy to hold down the adaptors you are golden. It will not work without a canopy is what I was told. Super versatile not too noisy at all still drive with the windows down and extra places to mount lights. I got lazy and just put them in the easiest places.
