20180321_181722.jpg The larger tb helps with throttle response and wot airflow.
I havent done any datalogs with the Airaid but feels the same as the URD TCAI that I had on before.
    @o0opackersfano0o and I traded intakes.

Here is a pic of the tb. I dont have any with the airaid yet.

Here’s a pic of Roosty matching the URD 76 mm throttle body adapter to the supercharger inlet. There was enough material to grind away to fully match to the adapter.

These two pics show the inlet ground out but not yet cleaned up.

Here’s a pic that Roosty took of my 76mm tb after he knife edged it. He hasn’t smoothed the bore yet in this pic.

Here’s a pic after we installed it, you can see it’s massive, lol. I wish I had better close up pics, we modded a crap load in two days with about four hours of sleep both nights, plus lots of drinks and very little food.

    D9FCB02C-5780-4F10-B3FC-C822F12644D8.jpg

You might get a better idea of the scale with this pic compared to the supercharger.
He carefully turned the idle screw counter clockwise one turn to basically get it to idle like stock. I was able to slide the afe rubber boot over the bigger throttle body without issue.

Thanks for all the info @5thGearPinned !!!
He was rather stealthy with his camera and would take pics without me knowing. :D

Here’s the intake plenum that Roostfactor bought to port and polish, basically cleaning all the edges and evening things out in advance of me coming to his house. I traded him mine for this one once we pulled mine off the truck.

    64206487-90A0-4843-8241-E00C1810D092.jpg
This is the bottom or engine side of one of the runners of the intake before any work was done. You can see the outrageous walls and hang ups that effect flow. Lots of ledges, edges, and no beverages.

    D611DA06-505C-4472-AE26-53364A1C3E86.jpg
This is after Roosty did his work, a ton better now.

My old intake on the right compared to Roostman’s work on the left.

Ready to be installed after it is port matched to the supercharger on its top side.

Once we bolted the supercharger to the intake, John went to town.

The intake is now installed on my truck, you can see the match work that was grinded off to flow with supercharger.

    CEDF39D4-B10E-40FB-8379-3460C9AEC540.jpg
The supercharger is installed and everything lined up perfectly which was a relief.

Before we installed the supercharger, we ground down the snout for the 2.5 pulley. A big shout out goes to WhiteLightningBoosted for shipping his snout cutter to us.

    58FA9C7D-399D-4567-A0B3-AF84F43714CE.jpg
We also adjusted the bypass valve to perfection.

Can’t forget the JFR Roostfactor pulley wrap mod, along with the trimmed down Dayco belt.
Alright, gotta roll, I’ll post more pics in a bit.

    Thanks @5thGearPinned!
I wanted to radius the sc plenum runners as you can see some of the radius was grinded out but we ran out of time. Ideally I wanted more of a velocity stack shape.

3CD4A43D-2F15-490E-BA44-AB30A3840BF8.jpg @Roostfactor have you tried using the flapper sanders for the dremel. I feel like they work better then just the round sanders. Just my .02 I can’t wait for winter to take mine all apart and make it flow. A spare 76mm throttle body I have that I’ve been practicing with.

John kept talking about the flapper sanders, which he was out of, I had plenty, but neglected to bring them for the final cleanup. You are right, they are the cats meow. Nice throttle body by the way! I can’t wait for winter either! This is too much fun.

Yeah as @5thGearPinned said I would have liked to use those.
Your TV looks bitchen! I always go by the rule of shape over finish.
A lot of people think everything has to have a mirror finish to be effective when it's the size and shape that matters most. There may be a small benefit in the combustion chamber and exhaust ports to help prevent carbon buildup though.
Of course when we all have meth injection "in cylinder" cleaning is just a throttle pedal input. :D:thumbsup::D

So @Murphinator just got his y-pipe on. I was texting back and forth with him today. Here is a message he sent me right after he texted he was going for a test drive......"Holy F$ck!!! Dude this is crazy"

He should be posting soon to give us all the details including me as I'm anxiously awaiting his thoughts as well.
Sorry Murph if you didnt want me to quote you but I didnt think you would mind.

So I just got the ypipe installed today and took it for a quick test drive.
Let me just first off say thank you John for making these. Not only was it a fun day project (even in 104 F) but the support from John when I asked questions and the craftsmanship on this piece is outstanding!

Install went straight forward, I did not do it in record speed but everything went well. Much better than the time I tried to install the urd ypipe.
I am sorry for those who want pictures. You are going to have to wait. I put on clean clothes and took a shower so I am not getting back on the ground today, tomorrow when I reinstall my skid plate is when I will take pictures of everything! And document if the skidplate fits or not, from what I looked at, I should not have any issues.

Ok so now for the good part, lets talk about the first actual test drive!
Right off the bat, turn key and my truck is a little quieter. Not dead silent, but before with my urd pipe it was a little loud on start up, and sometimes people would think I revved my truck up when I started it. (I know it kinda does that no matter what, point being before it was loud, not anymore!).

As far as smoothness go, my truck already seemed to be incredibly smooth when driving after my OVtuning. With this ypipe I feel as though my engine idles smoother, before you could feel a slight shake rumble almost. It feels like everything is balanced a lot better.

Some of you may think I have lost my mind, and maybe I have, but I feel like the truck is smoother through the whole RPM range now. It revs up smoother, feels like it wants to just keep going higher and higher. It used to feel and sound like it was fighting to climb rpms where as now it just climbs up and purrs like a kitten.

On my first pull I could feel my torque comes on sooner, but my top end doesn’t seem to suffer from it. Overall it’s a very nice improvement and I wish I would have taken some 0-60 times before and after on a closed course. There is no way the truck got any slower, even with the addition of a high flow cat. I'd rate these 2x as good as my shortie headers. I notice more difference with the ypipe vs the headers. Also when I installed the URD pipe I really didn't feel much improvement in power, the truck just got louder. First pull I did even in 98 F 18% humidity when I left the house I could immediately tell the difference.
I will give more updates on the power as time goes on, I need more testing. Like going up hills and what not. Got to give the whole picture perspective, there is one large hill in particular I travel on usually once a week that I am really eager to see the difference, and I hope there isn't a lot of traffic so I can actually see this thing work.

To close this out I left sound for last since it is subjective. Everyone is different, and what I like everyone else might not. With that being said here is my total exhaust system:
Jba shortie headers to stock cats to JFRacing ypipe to a small high flow cat, to a banks muffler. All the pipe after the ypipe is 3”.

My sound from 0-2k rpm is quieter. The more the rpms go up the louder it gets, and up till around 3k rpm I would say it is quieter than the urd ypipe. Above 3k it’s close to the urd ypipe in terms of loudness, but boy. I find it hard to put into words how the truck sounds now. In a totally good way, it has a deep sound to it, not ricer. It has a very deep angry growling sound now, it sounds like a total beast. As I drive more I will try to update this, as I am kind of speechless right now.

Overall I give this a 10/10. It wasn't cheap but when you think about it I spent more money on my shortie headers, and they didn't come with nearly half the benefits. I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite mods I have done to the truck. I was at first worried I wouldn't notice much of a difference since my headers technically are not equal length, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I don't know if I will get my afr sensor installed for my gauge this weekend, but I would like to just to monitor if my afrs now since John mentioned with the equal length my afrs may lean out slightly.

Sorry for the long wall of text everyone :)

Thanks brother!!! I have been very anxious to hear his thoughts since the only variable is the y-pipe (from an already aftermarket y-pipe) to this and a 3" cat.
Get some rest and cruise around for awhile. It's all the little things like starting from a stoplight or climbing small grades that are only noticed in time.
Everyone want to punch it and feel a difference when they first install something myself included. Only in time in various conditions do we really notice all the little benefits that come with mods.

So does the exhaust sound smoother if that makes sense?

Your AFR's will only lean out slightly due to more efficient exhaust scavenging.

    Also I forgot to mention.

Thank ALL THAT IS HOLY. No more exhaust rattling on the carrier bearing crossmember. I think I am atleast 272.74% less likely to lose my shit now that the rattle is gone. That thing was one of my biggest pet peeves about the truck that at one point I was very close to selling the for a tundra. I mean it wasn’t just the rattling, but the ac wasn’t working very good and it made the rattle worse. Needless to say, I am glad that is a thing of the past!

Yes you are right about it sounding smoother. It’s one of those things I don’t know how to explain. Kind of like after I got Ovtuned my truck sounded different. The engine and exhaust note changed, and I think I saw some one else mention it once they were tuned as well, and I was glad to know that I wasn’t crazy because someone else heard it too. I think I might setup my gopro and see how it picks up the sound.

Also cleaned up the review some now that I have a clear head. I really wanna go drive around right now just to drive.

I wasn’t worried to much about resizing it due to the fact I couldn’t mess with the size of the throttle valve anyways. Just got rid of that lip and tried to polish it to see how it came out. I have to do the supercharger inlet anyways which will never be as big as 76mm.
