Very true. That's why st some point I may eliminate most of that restriction.

So a mini update after putting around 100 ish miles on the ypipe, a very healthy improvement in low range torque. My truck is working a lot less to maintain speed while climbing hills. One hill I always go up, my boost gauge at the bottom of the hill usually changes from reading vacuum to boost and would sit at 0.0 and bounce around 0 to 1.7-2.3 psi. Tonight it stayed at 0.0 which makes me believe the extra torque meant less load on the motor so it was not opening the supercharger’s bypass valve like it used to.

I think if anyone was NA this ypipe and maybe the OVtune with some headers has to be your best bang/buck before going to a supercharger. Honestly this ypipe is better than the sc in a lot of aspects since it improves power where the supercharger isnt boosting the motor. Paired together makes me very happy.

Also I am happy to report I have no droning noises or anything like that at all the speeds I drive at. I still need to get one part welded after the ypipe, but so far the clamp is holding up. I am hoping next weekend I can get it all welded up

Might be another week of waiting, depending on the route of the hurricane, and if it creates rippling rain bands...

I will try to get some video action soonish.

For now I want to show some pictures with everyone. So some of you probably know I have shortie headers and the shop basically botched my driver side cat up. The transmission L bracket no longer lines up, and it caused some other issues with my cat back rubbing on a cross memeber. Here are some pics where you can get an idea of what I am taking about.
    Passenger side:7DB82AA8-FB2C-4F69-90DC-11C052505202.jpgDriver side:
    A5FCD6AA-79BE-4753-BBBB-66A22E437C5C.jpg

Not the most scientific photos, I get it. But you can clearly see why stuff isn’t lining up. Despite all this, The stock ypipe, urd mk2 ypipe, and John’s equal length ypipe still fit on. It mostly causes issues down stream.

I went to reinstall my rci mid skid,

    12B2CC08-00DD-4F80-A2FA-EDB76C0E4D52.jpg
It might have a nut hair of clearance, even though it doesn’t look like it from the pictures. I think my header is making this part of the ypipe hang lower, and the collector part of the pipe gets angled up slightly higher than it should be.

    0D073996-3B88-42BA-A155-E9FD8E146E79.jpg
No issue with the bolt contacting the pipe though!

    124CFC3C-667C-42FD-BA95-3734F1F0022F.jpg
Here is my temporary solution for mounting the flex pipe to my catback. I think I should maybe flip the vband around so the bolt is facing up and if the nut ever loosened it would hopefully not fall to the ground.

Any plans to replace the headers with something different? That would likely fix all the alignment issues. But I’m curious how that would play out as far as getting OVTune to shut off the catalyst monitoring so you could run no cats in the headers without CEL.

I want to. I just don’t know about doing it in this state. I would want the urd headers but I also do not want to be uninstalling them every two years. I know of a smog guy who will smog anything, but hes a little far away and if he ever gets caught I could be SOL.

I’m not too sure w/ ovtune either. He knows how to tune that is for sure. Hopefully he can show us 2nd gens some more attention for a few days so we can get some things done.

Hmmm. Well it might happen then. I still have a set of factory manifolds too from @JuanitoBunito who should also get in on this ypipe..

I figure if I install the urd headers, then have that shortie header fixed to line up like thr factory one did, I will have 3 sets of good headers :D

If you can swing it, you need the URD long tubes, I love everything about them, the spread, and the sound went from plain to race. Ever since Roost and I installed them last week it sounds and feels like I’m in a race vehicle.
I was doing videos today, complete break in rain for once, but I’ll do some more tomorrow with better runs, for I need an iPhone mount of some kind, mainly for the noise of the phone rubbing against all the things I rigged up.
Then I tried posting a teaser and it said the file wasn’t extended/added or something whatever that means. How do I get around that?

That y-pipe is beyond awesome. For now I am ok with my URD y-pipe. I’d still like to get a ovtune handheld. Just a simple s/c flash set up with for the mods I have.

If I were you I would see about getting his other tuner, I think it’s just called a flash kit. I think he said he is going to phase out the hand helds and switch to the flash kit instead.

Hey @Roostfactor, want to trade a ported lower plenum for a non-ported lower plenum? ;)

I think it’s like the 3rd gen, don’t quote me but basically you would need a laptop or a computer hooked up to the truck to flash I think. I don’t think it would be super difficult.

I have thought about offering a service at some point. It would be on a core charge basis or one for one swap. I sent the ported one and customer sends unported back as soon as possible.

Backlogged with y-pipes at the moment though.
