    Sorry for not being super active the last week or so. I just had my retirement luncheon today and will have my final Air Force work day next Friday. After that I will focus on y-pipes until I get a permanent second career. I will be out of town Oct 18-21 to attend a wedding but other than that it is fabrication time!
    Just wanted to give everybody an update.

    Another update. I am now effectively retired from the Air Force as of last Friday and already have an interview tomorrow in Dallas to work testing jet engines.
    I have put on my application that I cant start until November 5th so after tomorrow the plan is to start working on y-pipes again.
    I will be gone Oct 18-21 but outside of that y-pipe fab is my full time job for the next few weeks.

    Holy fack. Testing jet engines? People in my line of work would give their left arm for an opportunity like that.

    Thanks! I was a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force so I have been troubleshooting jet engines, running aircraft, and testing jet engines for 20 years so the work is nothing new for me.
    Learning different engines, their idiosyncrasies, and the facility/civilian personnel will be an adjustment though for sure!

    Nice! No wonder you're a rockstar at the blower thing. I just did the math, more like 30 years to retirement, especially with the way I spend money on my vehicles. But maybe by then I can start an after-market parts company for Tacomas.
