I mean, he would know better than you how your truck rides. He's a random guy on the internet after all.

My suggestion would be don't go over 3 Inches because you have to cut up the front of the truck and good luck with going back to anything under your 4" or 6" lift once you put it on. Plenty of guys run 33's or even 35's on a 3 inch lift!

So you're saying you won't have to cut anything putting 35's on a 3" lift?

im still debating what I am going to do. I am pricing a Icon stage 5 and all the goodies and I know I can run 33s with cab mount chop or I can cut more and 35s but not sure I like the look better than the 6 in with 35s with fox coilovers and shocks. I did get to ride in guys 2012 Tacoma today that had the Icon I mentioned and 37s on his. He has had to do lot of cutting and even moving some cab mounts on frame and rewelding. I still don't know but poster above is correct you go 4 or 6 in you are really there but honestly if you go the other route you will cut to to go 35s. 33s not so much. I think your trucks all look great with DB lifts

Do you plan on bombing through the desert at 50mph? The Icon stage 7 sure is fancy lol.

not at all. it will never be offroad much more than going to back roads fishing rivers. Im doing it for the look mainly and why I am leaning toward the bds 6in with coilover and fox. I wish there was one around here locally I could check out but they say it rides better or as good as stock with the fox and coil set up on them. Basically my truck is a mall crawler for sure

Truck looks great! I like the look of the 6" lift and 285's.

I always laugh at people who bash RC and drop lifts with how they ride...the only difference in ride is the increased center of gravity, everything else rides like stock because it uses the stock suspension lol, all the lift comes from the drop brackets and blocks. Also how they say 6" is a permanent lift, you can easily weld back in the piece you cut of the cross member if you ever want to go back to stock.

But people will always just jump on the bash train even without first hand experience.

Sounds like the RC lift would be ideal for you. It's fine if you want to spend the extra money for the big name stuff, but for what you are actually going to use your truck for is it really worth it to you to spend that extra money for those names?

Your truck with the 6” and 285’s reminds me of the good ol days before Chad got new wheels and tires, the days of the 4” lift on 265’s

I ran a rough country kit on my xj and didn't have any complaints... it was a short arm kit so it was stiff and harsh but it did the job. My fox setup that cost at least 4 times as much on my taco is also stiff so it's kind of a moot point. :D

    Truck looks great btw.

Truck looks great with the RC 6" and 285's!!!
I have the RC 6" kit with the N2.0 struts in my garage, I have the ICON Alpha wheels in gunmetal and I painted the struts and shocks gunmetal to match the wheels. Kit is going in on Tuesday and went for 305/70/17 Ridge Grapplers. Barcelona red too!
