    Hey everybody,

I will be installing Rough Country’s retractable bed cover tomorrow. (https://www.roughcountry.com/product/retractable-bed-cover-46416501)

I’m a little confused on the draining part. I see the 3 drain holes in my bed already. Albeit the driver side one isn’t drilled through. Anyways, the instructions on this says the hole needs to be 3/4” for the fittings. Would I be okay to just enlarge these? Does anyone have this specific bed cover installed?

Update to this. I guess I won’t be installing this today. I guess I didn’t realize this kit (or any other for that matter) requires tie down rails. And for some stupid reason, my truck doesn’t have them. So I guess I will contacting Toyota Parts Dept. I can’t even find aftermarket ones.

I have definitely read about people doing this. It was the #1 thing on my mind before today came to an abrupt end.

Update. What a pain in the ass. For one, the instructions say a 30 minute job with one person. My dad helped me and it took us hour and half. It was expected. I knew it would take longer than 30 minutes. Anyways, lining up everything was the biggest pain. One side would be good, and then the other side would mess up. Fix it. Then you’re back in the same boat. Making sure everything is waterproofed is a pain too. One of the drain tubes broke, so I’m waiting on RC to send me another one. Between the dealership charging me $385 after tax for bed rails (I’ve come to the conclusion that somebody had a bed cover on the truck before I got it, and took the bed rails off when they traded it into the dealer) and the cover itself. I’m about $1300 into this. It’s been an annoying journey. I’ll upload some pictures in the coming days just so folks can see it and make a determination on purchasing.
