    yeah...the projectors in them sucked the big one....so i had no choice, and i put the new morimoto XB led halo's into them

    So I listed myself as morimoto d2s, but just realized the fxr are not very much more and supposedly WAY better... I know the fxr require free hand cutting and are a more advanced install, but are they really THAT much better for only $20ish extra bucks? Seems almost too good to be true. You should think they would cost more if they are way better. Not trying to thread jack, but besides install differences (plug n play vs cutting) what else is so much better with the fxr and r they worth it? Thanks

    Thanks. So for the price its really not that much more, but can anyone tell me if the difference is worth cutting up your headlights permanently?

    And just to confirm, the morimoto being "plug n play" does that mean I can literally uninstall them and pop the factory parts back in and undo it completely? If it leaves any sort of permanent holes or damage then why would not just spend an extra $20 and get fxr? Thanks for the input. Just trying to get all the facts. And I'm sure several others have three questions as well.

    I guess what really trying to figure out is, if I get Morimoto, is it one of those things I'll always wish I just said f*** it and went fxr from the beginning?? Seems like a lot of morimoto guys all say "fxr is next..."

    Just don't wanna kick myself in the ass a month later over a stupid $20 bucks

    The FX-R's have to be aligned on the reflector bowl and bolted in place, permenantly altering the headlight. The Morimotos just attach using an alignment washer and a lock washer. If you wanted to undo the retrofit, you'd have to tear the headlights apart, remove the projectors and install the halogen shield.

    The $20 isn't the reason people don't use the FX-R, it's the installation procedure. If you went and retrofitted using Morimotos and decided that you'd rather have the FX-R's, you could easily sell off the headlights retrofitted with Morimotos and make your money back and then some (or de-install and sell the projector kit and only lose a little bit). Look at those guys who say, FX-R is next, and see how many actually follow through with it... :cool:

    Keep in mind, there will always be something better that you could have installed... for a little more money still, you could go with S2K, LS430 or the incredible LS460 projectors. All of which are better than the FX-R (LS460 being the best and the only one of those 3 that have a high beam).
