It's my daily driver so I like having a certain amount of "reserve capacity" so I don't completely thrash it. ;)

Sorry. My first reply was too deadpan so I edited it. Still too deadpan.

We're with the FBI ma'am. We do not have a sense of humor of which we're aware.

I was cruising along a mountain road on school property in SLO, it was drizzling and took a turn too fast (on a dirt road mind you). Drop off was about 60 feet into a creek bed. It was a left hand turn and I locked up my brakes to get full stopping force. Front right wheel ended up sorta dangling off the drop. Put it in reverse and tried to back out but one tire just spun. Engaged the locker and backed out and drove home shaking.

Moral of the story, dont write check your butt cant cash.

Most of the time my locker doesn't save me... This is why I go wheeling with other ppl.

I usually just turn mine on anytime I go wheeling. Just in case I need/want it and not have to stop to turn it on. It def didn't save me when me and Christian went wheeling and I had 1 back tire dangling and the other was dug in lol.

Seriously Monkey Proof, and without making up stuff... Deep, dry sand mixed with sea shells is what needs deflating... not the wet sand at low tide... I can drive that part in 2WD. A-TRAC and low range is not the best for sand, high range is.

A-TRAC is for very steep, uneven, or badly pitted surfaces when one or more tires leaves the ground...

Here, listen to an off road racer explain why A-TRAC is (sometimes) BETTER than lockers:
