Having just spent a weekend traversing steep snowy and icy trails, I have a new appreciation for both the value and limitations of both my locker and A-TRAC.

Yes, there were several stretches of trail where I needed to make sure both back wheels were turning. There were also a couple of off camber sections where my locker pushed me toward the edge. There were also sections where I just needed momentum and open diffs and spinning wheels. Some areas were greatly aided by chains. And, finally, while I would have loved to have had a winch, there were some areas that were only passable with shovels.

Long story short, you need different tools for different situations.

    Can we move on now?

    better, lol:D

in all seriousness a locker comes in very handy on some of the trails around me. usually very rocky and if it rains lockers are darn near essential. I see people do it without lockers, but much more difficult.

The tag is functional. I would never leave all those vent holes open to flying rocks/mud/water/sticks in my radiator and I'm sticking to that story.

    lol. Better.

if your not required to have a front plate in NJ, you could always pick up an old CO plate. They look a bit better than "the garden state" ;):D
