Hello there my fellow Tacoma friends,

As you can see on the picture i have about 30'' inches that is overhanging from the last bar. I was wondering if any of you folks have had this same issue and how'd you guys resolve the overhang RRT. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Your friend Taco,
    Josh

Sorry, but maybe a smaller portable mansion? That thing is HUGE!

The OR wheels are looking good blacked out.

Take it off when not camping? Sorry but I really don’t see why people just drive around with a big tent 24/7? Like on your way to work, are you pulling over to camp at any given moment? Or do you just have to show everyone in your suburban neighborhood that you actually do go outside?

Center the rack in the bed or put it further toward the rear of the bed. Looks like it’s further towards the rear window.

I don't know if there is anything you could do. You could get a bed rack that is as tall as your roof rack, and slide the tent forward a bit, but then it will be catching a lot of wind.

Given that I go camping pretty frequently, and don't have space in the garage to house the tent when it's not on my roof I will likely be running with my setup in the ready position permanently. Its also a pain in the ass to remove by myself.

That's a big ass tent. Looks like you'll prob just need to live with it or get a small utility trailer to mount it to.

Love that tent that LLOD has, except that its $3500 freaking dollars. I think its actually MORE expensive than the larger one was.

Here’s my tent. It’s on a long bed but it seems short enough to fit on a short bed without overhang. That CVT cost a lot. Bet you could sell it and get a shorter one if it really bothers you.

Go with a shorter tent (I have a Tepui Kukenam with similar bed bars, and it fits fine over the short bed), or raise it higher (e.g., a truck cap or full rack in the back) and move it forward over the cab.

My RTT also hangs further out. I'm gonna get a hardshell and put it on top to avoid the overhang.

Or you could go longbed or get a smaller RTT.

Who cares if it overhangs! I don’t give that mine overhangs. I also leave mine on all the time because I don’t care what other people think about my truck as long as I like my own truck and enjoy using it.

STANDARD 2-3 PERSON TENT.... fits great... if I have a 3rd 4th or 5th passenger they need to bring their own tent...

@tonered - Thanks man, I will be replacing my wheels and tires sometimes next month to a Falken A/T3W and XD enduro. So im really excited for that.

@wsutaco - I don't leave it 24/7 on the truck as it killing my gas mpg. i only put it there when i need it. Thanks man.

@Tacospike - I have the bars all the way at the end of the railing on the bed on this picture. i was thinking replacing my oem cover bed to Diamond back cover that way i can just attached it on the top of the cover. Thanks

@Camel89 - That was i was thinking too but then it will be too loud cause it will be catching lot of wind and also affect my mpg too. Thanks for the feedback bro.

Thanks guys for all your feedback that really help.

my ARB Simpson III fit slantways down my bulkhead door into my basement. sitting up on some saw horses... airing out for the winter.. I left the KBvoodoo crossbars attached to the tent... just removed the mattress, and cover to move it down there. I did this with just me, and my wife (shes kinda wimpy).. tant with the bars was just an awkward/odd size.. and probably 150lbs...

I mean I guess I could do that. Up 3 flights of stairs and keep it behind my couch in my one bedroom apartment? Can't have people thinking I'm an overland tool...
