I purchased the OEM Tonneau cover on Craigslist that came with all the hardware but I have that gap on both sides close to the rail. I purchased the precut rails from Toyota and purchased these plugs so I assume I shouldn't have to cut my rails. My question is do I just remove the bedrail that is against the cab and these rubber plugs just snap in? I'm guessing I have to remove that square foam seal on the ends? Just trying to understand how to install these before I take anything apart lol

Look at nwAdamR's post in the previous page of this thread. I followed his instructions and it all worked in the end.

I thought his instructions were for an aftermarket cover but looks like same directions should apply. Thanks for pointing it out.

I used this.... and it worked beautifully.... Just mask the inner and outer edges of the crack and "fill er up" from the top... let cure...remove tape... Done...No more leaks..!!

It this something you only need with the factory cover, or would it help with after market also? I'm getting a Revolver X2 and was wondering if I should pick some of these up.

I think that remove the tonneau cover to install these. I just purchased a cover locally and didn't install them. I will be trying to put them in tomorrow. I will provide photos.

The truck comes with a 1/4" gap on the front corners of the box.... So, If you want to seal it, yes..you have to address this issue with all covers....

My Solid Fold 2.0 did not come with these fillers.....but I believe they now do....

I bough an early 2016 and they were not ready yet, I guess....

I saw the gap and plugged them as above... Works for me..

The marine silicone didn't do the trick either. I decided to start from scratch. I removed the OEM plugs as well as the silicone sealant and stuffed a bunch of butyl tape in the gaps. Works REALLY good so far. No leaks, even after driving in some solid rain storms. Super happy!

Anybody got a trick on how to tighten the laches on the back by the tail gate so the cover is a little more snug?

i have 2017 toy taco trd sport. i would have to cut the side rails to install those expensive plugs, i tried everything for an hour to fit them. the only way i was able, well they would not have stayed, they fallen out on a bump. i barely touch and out came. so i returned the expensive rubber plugs. cut some pipe foam shoved in for now. if wee eve get any warm weather, i may go back and us e the gasket seal i already have laying around.
i installed after market access tonneau. the seal along my rails are a little under workmanship also. so may be spot placing gasket seal there also.

Ya, the 17 taco box is like a seive compared to my previous '14 silverado. Drivers side storage box in bed gets h20 and dirt from rear driver wheel well. I've plugged some holes with HVAC putty. Comes in various sizes. Removes if u want to. Will see how it holds up. Also got some rv/camper cold wx gasket roll I'll try once it warms up.
BTW, every taco I looked at with the toyota trifold oem tonneau leaked like a seive.
