I'm running an Icon stage 2 kit with 17x9 -12 Fuel Rippers and 285/70/17's and the only rubbing I had was taken care of with my heat gun. No cutting anywhere.

Alignment specs are important to get clearance too, you want as close as you can get to 0 camber 0 toe and +2.5° to +3° of caster.

Of course.. I’m not one of those ppl that don’t run UCAs :anonymous:

I’ll say this tho, Dakar leaf pack and ucas are totally worth the investment.

I ran 285s (MTR Kevlar) on rims with the proper backspacing on my 2010 with no CMC and no rub ever. Offroaded the truck pretty hard. I did however do a CMG, a cab mount grind. If you look at the cab mount, the metal on the bottom is “folded” up on the front, all i did was grind off that fold which is maybe 1/4 inch. Good to go. I had a OME lift and spc UCA. First 886 coils then switched to 887s. I prefered not to cut the cab mount especially because it wasnt necessary at all. The front cab mounts are as beefy as they are because they are designed to stop your front wheel from penetrating the cab and pin your legs in case of a frontal impact.

I myself had a head on collision with my 2010, both vehicles traveling at hwy speeds. My front wheel was ripped off and destroyed against the cab mount as designed, the cab mount took the full impact. It was bent back a few inches and started to seperate from the frame. When I saw that i was extra glad I didnt do a CMC, especially a super agressive one like some people do. Its more than just a cab mount. Watch the 2017 toyota tacoma driver side overlap IIHS crash test on youtube and you can see the front cab mount in action.

Just had a look at the front cab mount on my 3rd gen, wow what a difference from the cab mount on the 2nd gens. Way bigger now.

What notch # is your 6112 set on?
Mines set on max notch #6 (going 9 months w/o any issues) and been researching on fitting 285/70/17 with 0 offset FN fx wheel and SPC LR UCAs.

its even bigger towards the front. The shop that did my CMC told me the same and mentioned he had a lot more to cut off than he does on 2nd gens.
