Running 285s without CMC?

    5100s, 887s and no cmc on 285s. If I run spacers, I absolutely need a cmc. Don’t try and run some crazy low offset without it. I don’t have aftermarket UCAs either.

    Just getting started...
    I'm glad someone else asked this. I'm soon to be a new Taco owner in the next few weeks and I'm trying to decode the lingo. :rofl:

    So now I know what CMC is, and 285's are obvious. What are 5100's and 887's? Thanks for being patient with a Taco noob. :)

    that's the suspension setup. so some people use toytec, icon, fox, etc bilstein and 887 is just a setup people use that is more budget friendly as oppose to some of the other name brand lift kit setups.

    I rub pretty good with 285s on my 17x9 -38s. I don’t think he’d rub too bad with a -12 or at all.

    On the bottom notch. I thought about going up to .85 but I’d rather just get 888s or coilovers.

    I thought 887 were preferred since it will put more strain on the bilsteins

    Toytec bilstein 5100 lift w AAL. 2.5 front and 1.5 rear. KMC turbine wheels 4.5 bs, BFG KM2s 265/75/16
    I run the stock upper control arms as well and I think that keeps the wheel further away from the cab mount. One of the many variables that can contribute to different owners experience.

    Yea I’m gonna keep stock uca until needed. I’ll still run that 5100 and 888 tho. Maybe 1.5 inch aal toytec or block in rear

    5100s are a type of shock, bilstein brand. and 887s are the coils that would pair up with the setup.. They are OME brand.

    2888/5100/Dakars 285's/Camburgs
    the 2886's have a higher spring rate for plate bumper/winch. The 2888's are longer with a lower spring rate, no front plate bumper/winch.

    the 2887's are just 5mm shorter than 2888's

    maybe it was the 2886's, then the 2888's were just a longer version of the 2887's, so many tend to forget. lemme look that up and correct it.

    Yup that was it
    • OME 883: 375mm in height, 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 884: 390mm in height 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 885: 395mm in height 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 886: 402mm in height 660 pound spring rate
    • OME 887: 400mm in height 590 pound spring rate
    • OME 888: 405 mm in height 590 pound spring rate
