How did you get by without doing a cmc? I'm running the same lift as you and 16x8 with 0 offset and it rubs.

How many of you did the pinch weld?I just had my new suspension installed and had to add spacers for uca clearance.I had the 285s before with a cheap rc lift that was supposedly 3 inches but I'm sure its the spacers that got me rubbing. I am rubbing fenders and cab mount.Just curious if the pinch weld is necessary?I do think I'll go to a 34 tire next time so I'll probably have it done but I'm curious with the 285s if necessary when I cmc it.

Just do everything while your down there. 285s with 1.25 spacers and 2” lift and I rubbed everything. More agressive Cmc and pinch weld fixed the main issue and now just need to use heat gun to push front wheel fenders in.

True, I can't tell where I'm rubbing or not honestly. I got rid of the main parts when simple driving/ turning with heat gun and dremel but at full lock and reverse on incline/decline.

Just stuff the wheel at 30 around a corner, itll give you a good idea where its rubbing the plastic lol. Just did an aggressive CMC yesterday and will wait to do the pinch weld when I throw the 285s on. Not sure why you wouldn't want to do a CMC... do it right the first time.

Im not against doing a CMC, i've already cut on the truck and plan to cut a lot more. I was simply asking everyone's experience and how many people were doing the pinch weld. That's all.

curious about this. I have JBA UCAs which have 3 degrees caster built in and when I got it aligned I told them to do 3 degrees plus caster and everything else to zero. Never mentioned maxing out LCA cam bolts. Is that bad?

Gonna see in a bit! Having 33s installed as we speak. I have a 2” lift so hoping I can at least make it to my CMC appointment next week.

so maxing out the LCA cam bolts is only necessary if you want maximum caster, or more than the aftermarket gives?

Annnnd rubbing on the cab mount at close to full lock, especially reversing. At least I can drive on the street mostly. Alignment next, and will ask for 3.5-4 degrees caster since I have the JBA UCAs. Then next week is the CMC

Lifted 2 1/2" installed the 285/75 16 tires and aligned it, did the CMC and still rub at full lock more so when turning into a drive way... I am preparing to do the pinch weld and probably trim the plastic. see how it goes..

Was it a guess CMC? I'm going to have my guy stuff my tires with a forklift and measure how much to cut. Whats your wheel offset, including spacers?

It's not bad if its within spec. Drives good and clears your tires.

I have 285/75r16s. 3" block in the front and AAL in the rear. Everything else stock. Had them move the caster up a bit in the front when it was aligned. Barely rubbed on the front air dam in reverse at full lock. Move it about an inch with a heat gun. Zero issues since.

So your comment about the maxing out of the LCA Is more for getting as much caster as you can. Gotcha. Today I’m going for an alignment again and will remind them since the techs usually don’t know what they are doing. Need to get my wheels off the cabs

I have my LCAs maxed and my SPC UCAs set so that I end up with 4* of caster. I have zero rub with 285/70R17 KM3 while offroad, in reverse, or crawling the curbs. No CMC. They key was pushing the LCAs out and having the ability to adjust the uppers. I also have +0 offset methods, which doesn't hurt either. I will be doing a cab mount relocate (none of that garbage cmc stuff for me) so that I can fit 35s.

Good to hear. Going for an alignment today. CMC next week by pros so hoping it won’t be garbage. If I was going larger wheels I’d prob do the relocate. Did you have front trimming to do when caster was at 4? Also where did you get an alignment? Unfortunately around me there are only the big chains.

If I opt to run with '20 TRD Sport wheels with 285 tires, will I need CMC? I have 5100 with 887 and Headstrong 3-leaf aal. The notch is set at 0. Running factory tires 265/65/17 for now. On fence between 275/70/17 and 285/70/17
