OK I've just purchased a set of factory running boards from a Tacoma owner who didn't want them. He did not provide the bolts. Does anyone know what size/length these bolts are? It's for a 2008 Tacoma Access Cab.

Have you checked the spots underneath where the boards bolt up? When I put my OEM nerf bars, I think I remember one spot where I had to remove a bolt (towards the front of the cab). The other spots had cover on the holes. Its worth a try.

I just put on some Aries bars on a dbl cab but the bolts that attach to
the rocker should be the same size. Aries uses 8mm x 30mm 1.25 pitch.
Also 8mm flat washers and 8mm lock washers. Can't help you with the
bolts to attach the bars to the brackets.

Just installed my Toyota running boards on my 08 access cab myself. The instruction sheet that came with it says you will need twelve M8x25 serrated flange screws. They looked like they had a bit of blue loctite on them as well.

The 1/4-20 bolts that hold the brackets to the running board need to be loosened before installation to allow adjustment and then tightened to 8lb-ft when done. The M8x25's need to be torqued to 14.4lb-ft when done.

Thanks dudes - I bought the M8x25mm 1.25 thread bolts at Lowe's (amazingly good selection there of all kinds of automotive fasteners by the way) and put the running boards on. Worked great first time/piece of cake!

I have factory running boards on mine and I'm looking at taking off, what length bolt came out of the attachment points?

Holy shit man, this thread is almost a decade old.

Edit: also the size was mentioned above. The bolt is 25mm long.

I'm just going to run some M8 x 16mm stainless bolts with stainless lock washers in the holes and call it a day.
