I need to do this on my 3G.

I did it on my 2013 and was shocked when I saw rust on my 2016 that's a month old.

To those asking about Fluid Film, I did very thick coats every year I had my truck and went through 4 New England winters including the worst on record and I had effectively no rust on my frame. The only spot that rusted was the leading edge of the crossmember simply because it's the lowest point on the frame and was subjected to the most road deris which abraded off the FF.

My coating was actually so thick at the box areas near the cats that it would drip out during hot weather and leach out of the doors and tailgate. I may have gone a bit crazy.

That being said my truck looked much better than any other Tacoma I saw of the same year. I will be doing my new one sooner vs later.

How do I take the tabs off without breaking them? Do I just yank with a flathead?

I used a fastener remover I'm sure a flat head would suffice

I did it from the engine bay with a step ladder.

Anyone hearing knocking sounds from the front console area after the mod, especially during right wheel bumps and acceleration in general? TBH, I am not sure if the sound was from before or after this mod :\

I zip tied mine to the bottom of the bracket holding that odd looking coil shaped wire in the engine bay (looking down from the hood over the wheel well), it seems to hold it just right in place. Sorry, I don't know what the correct name is for that part. I don't have any pics right now or I would post it.
