I did this three years ago when I got the truck. Now I have a nice intermittent drip of fresh distilled (close enough) water when the a/c is running that keeps the Fluid-Filmed frame flushed and nice and clean.

I am doing this today.. I just got a 2021 last night with 42k miles on and was looking underneath and was thinking to my self why is that water dripping on the frame.. LOL

I live in Socal..I been trying to find a place to do rust proofing for under carriage and its not as easy as you think over here.

It's easy as hell if you order some wool wax online and spray it on in an hour.

Came to say just the same..it works well in cold weather/salt areas like MA, it'll be good enough there.

I just peeked under my neighbors taco and its pretty clean actually.. I might not need to spray it.. I am still doing that re-route tho.. Oriellys did not have the right size clamp so I ordered the parts online.

Spraying it will probably be a lot less of a head ache honestly. Get under it spray that spot and a foot radius and maybe do it once a year. Water won't even make contact with the frame. I will stress though, water isn't gonna burn a hole in your frame. Rain water doesn't, why would a little AC condensation?

That’s an excellent idea and I’m picking one up at ACE today.

Nice! I always try to support my local ace hardware. They have a better hardware selection than Lowe’s and Home Depot for the harder to find pieces.

I started to do this mod but postponed due to concern of the line freezing in winter.

IIRC defrost also runs the AC compressor?
Has anyone had problems with the extended line freezing inwinter, leading to overflow or other issues?

Thinking of just spraying fluid film or plasti dipping that area of the frame and moving on with life...

Luckily I’m moving south when I retire early next year, so no more freezing temps and road salt…can’t wait!

I would think that the heat from the manifold would keep it from freezing.

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
    dripping evaporator lines causing rust!

!st world problems! Try New England and then cry about rust. I just emptied 3 cans of fluid film on the underside of my Taco. I do it every year about this time, and it's STILL RUSTY!

Good thing I'm getting old, I just don't seem to care any more....I just do it ;-)

I would think so with the stubby thing that's directly near the manifold but would think it could easily stay below freezing the further you get from that and where it's tip tied off either behind the A arms or behind the body mount.
