I'm looking into buying the new 2016 but keep seeing all these negative comments that Tacomas rust out etc and they hope they changed that for the new ones.

That being said. For those that are dealing with rust. Just curious, did you do annual rust proof spray or no?

I dont care to hear if you believe it works or not, personally I think it does, never had any rust on my cars and each was always sprayed each year. My current is a 06 Jetta TDI and still not a spec of rust even with winter driving. And lots of salt is used where I live. Not even my coil overs have rusted and thats common for Koni coilovers.

So simple yes or no, did you rust proof (oil spray)?

yes, i use fluid film, which most people on here will recommend. Don't over worry about the rust thing. Just take care of the truck. Wash it, treat the frame with FF. Enjoy.

Is there anything other than FF a person can use. Man doing that every year is just not my gig.

find an oil field and race through a few puddles of spillage. Undercarriage coated, no real effort on your part. you're welcome.

theres an old thread on here of a guy using a spray bottle (like a windex bottle) to spray ff onto his frame. You just need to warm it up and it will spray. Im going to try this for this winter. Theres also a business here that does por15 treatment and he told me they guarantee the frame for 10 years.

I'm still looking forward to the "I just bought a 2016 and it's already rusting" thread.

would that be similar to Krown rust proofing?
thats what I've always used just their standard krown rust proof spray done once a year. cost like $80. They drill the holes into the door sills and inject it etc.

Thats pretty much why I'm asking. I read all these reviews and I'm thinking, is it really that shitty or are these people just those typical ones that don't actually take care of their car then complain it doesn't work or its all rusty.

So with the stuff OZ-T recommends is that a yearly thing or does it last longer?
