rusty frame issue but live in the southeast

I've got a 97 Tacoma and it's vin falls in line with the vin numbers affected. The frame has holes all in it from rust. I've called 2 different yota dealerships and they both say that my vin is not showing any recall information in their computer.

This makes no sense to me. They seemed somewhat clueless on the recall too...said they sorta knew or heard something about it, but didn't really know any details.

 

I would suggest calling the Toyota customer service line and speaking with them.
